How long can you maintain your GFR levels?
I got iga nephropathy as an infant and was relatively stable until my twenties (I am now 34) but over the last 10-14 years my GFR has been dropping. Was at a 59 in 2008 and now at a 36 in July of 2019. I will admit, I smoked cigarettes, vaped nicotine and drank too much during those years and really

My Dr. Never heard of CBD oil!
So, I went to my gastroenterologist and he ordered a ultrasound of my liver because he felt my last one was getting old. I asked him about using CBD oil, for other medical problems that I have and I asked him if it would hurt my liver. He never even heard of it!!! I was completely shocked and not believing

6 weeks post transplant and all good
My husband went back to Kings yesterday for check up and all is looking good. The bile duct stent seems to have done the trick and he doesn't have to go back to Kings for another 6 weeks, then he will be passed over to Southmead hospital in Bristol for most of his checks. Meds - down to 5mg Prednisolone

Holly Kitchen (MBC Video)
Watch her video. She explains how misunderstood it is and how she herself did not realize you can get MBC even after having mastectomies. Put it in youtube or just google Holly Kitchen and MBC. Many of you may have seen it, others may have not.

Side effects
I have had side effects from meds and had to stop taking them but don't give up. Keep trying until your Doctor gets it right. Not trying to push anything on you but I have a medical marijuana card and some of the products have been helping me, especially the gummies and vapor pen. When you go to the

Sinemet, how much is too much?
I'm wondering is there is a scientific guidance or a rule of thumb about how much Sinemet is too much for PWP. I have been very careful about the intake of C/L because of the side effects will come with the long time use of this drug but my panic button was activated when I read a post from a member

Difficulty sitting after Prostate Surgery !
Hello everybody this is my first post. I just had radical prostatectomy 11 days ago. A lot of the pain has subsided more or less, but I feel if I sit for an extended period of time, the area is too tender and gets inflamed and painful. Bumby car rides are really challenging. I am using donut cushions

Hi - I'm new here
I've been poking around here for a couple of weeks and decided it was time to jump in. Diagnosed in 2008 - right after my 50th birthday - with stage 3 breast cancer. Bilateral mastectomy, removal of most lymph nodes on affected side, lots of heavy chemo & radiation. All stayed quiet on Letrozole until

Need advice, facing question...
Facing some choices.... I often have significant urinary retention issues tied to chronic prostatitis. Had thought for years that it was BPH, and was even told so by the first Uro doc I wqas seeing for 3 years. Prostate is somewhere between 44 mL and 55 mL depending on whether you believe the ultrasound

Hi: I have to ask quick question though it appears most people on this site take better care of themselves via diet and exercise holistic therapies, etc. My confession is that when I began ibrance/Letroziole 20 month ago I thought (I know know that’s not true) well I’m only gonna live 22 month if even

Frankincense
I've been putting Frankincense oil on my chest since day one and taking a drop of oil in a capsule daily. My daughter just brought me a bag of Frankincense crystals to make water with. I took my first ounce today and my old mastectomy scars are itching like crazy! Itching has always been a sign of

Hello everyone, I was discharged yesterday after a delayed DIEP flap reconstruction and was given the Breast Cancer Care leaflet with 8 arm exercises. So, i saw the neuro today. Went through my whole speech about the legs, etc. Told him the requip basically sucked, made my legs worse, caused insomnia and repetitive thoughts. So....he puts me on.. mirapex. W.T.F?? I flat out asked about methadone and he said, and i quote, "I don't prescribe methadone

Mom detected with invasive ductal carcinoma
First when my mom told me about the lump, I took her for checkup followed by mammography appointment and FNAC test which created suspicion for cancer. Next was going to a surgeon for removal and during that procedure there was a frozen section report which confirmed cancer (Invasive ductal carcinoma)

Can’t sleep
I have been dealing with RLS for 15 years and have been taking Ropinirole. I had to increase the dose because it wasn’t working. I saw my doctor and he recommended taking extended release. I haven’t slept more than 2 hours a night for over a week. I’m so exhausted and depressed. I’ve even tried medical
