Welcome 🌷 you have landed on the PMR/GCA Forum, is that where you intended to be?
I see you are on a Breast Cancer Medication & Meds for your bones. Are you on the AA as part of your adjuvant treatment for BC?
I had Breast Cancer in 2015 also, a Mastectomy & Chemo followed by 3years of adjuvant Zolendronic Acid as l had TNBC so of course there are no further Meds that will help.
Do you have PMR/GCA as that’s what we all have on this Forum so recommendations from Members here might not be in your best interests.
Have you had a Bone Scan? Do you still see your Oncologist?
Another forum on HU that may help is Breast Cancer Haven, just Search Communities at the bottom of your Profile Page.
Hello, the aroma tase inhibitor can cause a lot of pain. It says joint pain but I got severe bone pain too. Some people find it quite debilitating to the point that they can’t get out of bed. I had to give it up because it also gave me short term money loss too and I decided I wanted quality of life and not quantity. That was back in 2005 aged 42. As a compromise I had my ovaries removed and the DEXA they did then was normal. Now I’ve had it done for steroid therapy for GCA (this forum’s topic) and I’d lost 10% at age 54 but I was also found to have a very low Vit D level. Even then I could still treat it with supplements instead of AA according to the FRAX score (a risk calculator). However, they like people to have it post breast cancer because it is supposed to prevent recurrence.
