What should I expect with a mirena coil?
I’m having a laparoscopy on the 29th and at the same time having a
mirena
coil inserted. I’ve had a lap before but what about the
mirena
coil? How effect is it for treating symptoms of Endo and will it cause any discomfort? Thanks

Experiences with Lo-Estrin 20 vs Mercilon
Lo-Estrin 20 has lower levels of oestrogen and a different progestogen than what’s in the
Mirena
(Levonorgestrel).

My coil isn’t helping :( any alternatives for endo?
I’ve had the
Mirena
for a 16 months and now the jaydess for three months. They both make me bloated, emotional, don’t take away my pain and give me migraines! Are there any alternatives that have worked for you ladies? X

Unclear outcome from lap
He also told me to ‘not expect it to be gone forever’ and that he has put in a
mirena
coil to deal with any symptoms. Should I expect to need another surgery in the future?

Finally a diagnosis, it's endometriosis :(
I opted for the laparoscopy which I do not have a date for yet, along with a
mirena
coil to slow down regrowth. After so many years of pain I am fairly desperate to just get this looked at properly. Unfortunately I've got a long history of very bad reactions to hormonal birth control.

Burst cyst?
My period started a couple of days ago, it's really light as I have the
Mirena
but was more painful than usual. Then yesterday morning I was suddenly doubled over in pain and could do nothing but curl in a ball and cry, couldn't speak, didn't know what to do!

Pre-diagnosis
Hi all :) just seen the gynaecologist and as you all know it’s hard to diagnose. Just wondering people’s thoughts on the laparoscopy? I’ve already had the marina coil for 8/9 years but only symptomatic in last year so wanted to see who is for or against it? I’m only 28 and having children is important

Mirena & Bloating
Hi, I've had the
mirena
in for 2 weeks now. Still get niggly cramps and the feeling that its "there". Has anyone else experienced really sore boobs and heavy bloating? This is really affecting me now, 2lbs on in a day just with bloat and it is painful. How long do side effects take to settle? TIA

Don't understand why my doctor won't diagnose me with endometriosis
The doctor has advised me to have a
Mirena
coil fitted and said he wouldn't advise me to have a laparoscopy as it could cause more endometriosis and more complications but does seem very likely I do have endometriosis.

Waiting for mirena fitting, pill discontinued
I'm now waiting to have the
mirena
coil fitted but due to the pain I get with speculums it's going to be done under General anesthetic, which they've agreed to do. The issue is my pill which I currently tricycle has been discontinued by the manufacturer so I can't get anymore.

Help
I have tried various treatments such as contraceptive pill, implant, prostap injections and currently have the
Mirena
coil fitted. I have had the coil in nearly 5 months and it’s not easing my symptoms. I am bleeding most days and in incredible pain daily.

anyone's endo sypmtoms continuing even with mirena?
Wondered if anyone else feels a bit disappointed with the "miracle cure" that is the
mirena
? My periods have nearly disappeared - win - but I still get pain. Random Pelvic pain, leg pain, period-type pain, varying from mild to severe. I'm 7 months in to the
mirena
.

Shall i have the Mirena Coil removed??????
Hi All, This time last year i decided to get a
Mirena
coil. When the nurse was trying to insert it i was in a lot of pain, apparently my muscles were spasming whilst they were clamped so they had problems inserting the coil. They managed to insert the coil in on the 4th attempt.
