Opioid Dilemma
I suffer with Chronic pain due to Bulging Discs, Nerve Pain, Knee Pain and Arthritis. I was on Oxycontin for some time with NO addiction or dependence issues however I was referred to a pain specialist who took me off the Opioid medicine and put me on Methadone. I had issues with the Pain Specialist

Hi everyone. So Paul was in hospital for a week from last Tuesday until yesterday. This was because his pain medication was changed from MST to Methadone. The first couple of days were difficult, but now he is much better and this chronic abdominal pain - which is not cancer-related - is much better.

Couldn't Do Fourth Round Of Docetaxol: Husband Admitted To Hospital Tomorrow
Hi everyone. So today we couldn't do round 4 of Docetaxol. There was no doctor at the day ward so we are not sure what the reason was. Something was wrong with the bloods. The nurse said "liver is up so the professor wants to hold off", whatever that means. We saw the palliative care doctor, though,

We are adding methadone to help with the pain in Charles' jaws. We will still use the morphine as well. I wasn't aware that PSP patients had this much pain and especially in the face. Next steps will be watching for pneumonia and then. Anyone else had this scenario? We won't have a feeding tube so

Swollen Feet, Ankles, Lower Legs, and Rash
I'm from USA and am a 29 year old female... This issues has been coming and going for me for years, but now it's worse than ever. I had been prescribed Adderall XR for years, on and off, and I know a side effect of it is heart problems, even failure! Which has me even more concerned. I've also been

Combination Of Chemotherapy And Methadone
Hi everyone. We recently heard from my aunt who is a GP in Germany about a combination of Chemotherapy and D, L Methadone which is very promising. The D, L Methadone has to be especially manufactured. The dose is very low and has nothing to do with the dose used for drug substitution. It was first

The best RLS solution used for the last 300 years
If you search in the NIH or Johns Hopkins Hospital web sites, you can see information about RLS. Below is one thing I found after realizing that the codeine cough syrup I had been prescribed was 100% effective in eliminating RLS overnight. Instead of getting up twice/night I sleep 8 hours without interruption

Replacement drug for oxycodone for RLS
Hello all, I am currently taking oxycodone, between 5 and 10 mg. per day. My docs want me off at least for a while. Does anyone know if methadone works for RLS? I had to go off the pramimpexole since it caused me to lose 40 pounds, it gave me anorexia. The ropinirole does not seem to help me at

To the Methadone user
I couldn't find your previous post. I wanted to pass on a response I got from my GP in the States. I happened to mention that your Doc prescribed methadone for your RLS since there was no chance of augmentation. She said she hopes you are being closely monitored, because it can slow breathing so much

Point of view from the USA, from both a Lupus patient and GP (I'm them)
Since the medical system in the US is irretrievably broken and I have no idea how or when it will be fixed (and no energy left after nearly 20 years of GP practice [and now, in the past 30 months a triple diagnosis or SLE, Sjogren's and Hashimoto's thyroiditis] to go lobbying our useless government,

Overwhelmed with fear!
Hi! I'm new to this group & I was glad to see there was a site that might be useful to me. I live almost every day with fear & anxiety over what might happen to my 38 year old daughter who is addicted to alcohol & also had a bad addiction to heroin but she's now on methadone. She goes to the clinic every

Finally some relief!
After suffering with 24/7 all over the body RLS for 25 years, I found a Movement Disorder Clinic in Denver, Colorado. Took 5 months to get an appointment but has been SO worth it! I literally had no quality of life. I had seen many neurologists over the years, was prescribed Mirapex, requip to max

Colonoscopy
My name is Bijan, I would appreciate if anyone who has had colonoscopy procedure while being under MMT( Methadone maintenance therapy), tell me if methadone can have any negative effects on the procedure!I've been under MMT for about 15 years now. I also do have RA but I'm off most of the medications

Does Klonopin help with withdrawal from maintanence medication like methadone I've been on for 20 years for chronic back pain.
I just recently had spinal implant surgery, HF10 Therapy for those who know what it is. It has worked wonders for me and I'm hoping to lower my methadone intake if not eliminated it all together, however the withdrawal from methadone is the worst. My pain clinic doctor is allowing me to go at my own

Terrified
My grandma is on hospice care from having ovarian cancer, all the treatments were stopped because nothing was working. Now she is at home under our care and hospice nurses come by to check on her. They just tell us to give her morphine and methadone for pain. Well she just getting worse and worse each

I take 1800 mg per day and 2 mg of Requip. Mostly under control but sometimes add oxycodone, Valium, ice packs and/heat. But I have psoriatic arthritis to go with it which compounds the problem. I wish I could use methadone but I reacted violently to it although it sure worked for the problem.
