Morgentaler Saturation Model: PSA vs Testosterone - Estrogen Patch vs Lupron ADT
This is a plot of % reduction in PSA from a Maximum Value versus Testosterone, for two different datasets: Estrogen Patch and Lupron ADT. Both curves (red and green lines) show a linear response starting from (0,0), up to about 200-250 ng/dL. Then, the lines curve over to a lower slope (especially

PSA reduction after Estrogen Patch Therapy
Here's a revised plot of PSA reduction due to castration from Estrogen Patch therapy. The previous version had the wrong time scale. That has been corrected in this version. The total time is 3 months, after which the PSA and testosterone both flatten out versus time. I've also added the reference

Thyroid medication changes when starting HRT for perimenopause
I have been self medicating with liothyronine and levothyroxine for the past two years or so. Today I started the estrogen patch for perimenopause symptoms, and will also start progesterone in a couple of days. The provider that prescribed these said that some women need to increase their thyroid

PSA drop with decreasing Testosterone after Estrogen Patch Therapy
Here's a plot that I made from data taken from the PATCH estrogen patch therapy study. It plots the % reduction in PSA from baseline (100%) at time = 0 as a function of testosterone levels over a period of 4 weeks. As you know, estrogen effectively castrates men, causing a drop in testosterone over

day 12 FET scan - 12cm dominant follicle
Hi all, hope you’re keeping well. I’ve just had my day 12 scan - I’m on meds prepping for a frozen transfer next week. The oestrogen I’m on is meant to quieten my ovaries. On the scan today, one ovary was quiet, but there was one follicle on the other ovary measuring 12mm. The nurse wants to check with

Gynecomastia from ADT - how much?
Gynecomastia from ADT - how much? I am considering asking my oncologist for transdermal estrogn (TDE) therapy instead of Orgovyx to combat my prostate cancer. Since gynecomastia and breast pain are pretty much the only bad side effects from TDE and less troubling to me than metabolic disturbance,

Next Steps
My brother was dDiagnosed in March 2023 with widespread prostate cancer metastasized to the spine, pelvic bones, ribs both left and right, and skull and lymph nodes. No progression to any organs. He had a orchiectomy, is on ABIRATERONE 500MG and has just completed six treatments of Doxetaxel .

Severe scarring found in hysteroscopy after d&c- any tips on recovery?
Hi everyone, I had a hysteroscopy at the weekend and despite being told it’s unlikely the doctor found severe scarring in the womb entrance and inside my womb. He said it would have been a result of the d&c I had this time last year after a MMC 😢 So for the last year trying for a sibling I’ve

Early Results from Transdermal Estrogen PATCH trial - 2
Here's some charts comparing Lupron ADT to transdermal estrogen (TDE) therapy for High Risk and Very High Risk men with prostate cancer. The upper chart shows the percentage of men that have been castrated to a testosterone level < 50 ng/dL after 1 month of treatment. For Lupron, only 65% of HR/VHR

Estrogen ADT vs Lupron ADT
Here's a chart showing % of men who have a given condition, comparing Estrogen ADT versus Lupron ADT. There's big reduction in hot flashes, and improvements in libido, when taking supplemental Estrogen. Estrogen increases gynecomastia (enlarged breasts), however. Bob

Period after pessaries
So I've completely confused myself with dates. My last period was due on 13th Feb but it was delayed due to the progesterone pessaries. My bleed started on 17th Feb - I based my next period date (25 day cycle) on that. Is that correct? So instead of 9th March it'll be due 13th March? I'm only concerned
