Joint pain

Hi I have a history of back pain due to bulges bit more recently joint pain in lower back. The consultant has said some degeneration found but everyone has that. We are now looking at more spinal injections and further treatment.I am in perimenopause and have been on hrt for 2 years. Everol Patches and progesterone. The flare up with my pain is worse now around my time of the month. To the point I have to literally do nothing around this time due to pain and spasms. (I also have endo).

I am starting to wonder if this is having an impact on my issues. My physio also thinks it's contributing. I am having aches and pains not had before also.

The menopause is all about hot sweats and anxiety but not much on joint pain. Looking into it I can see the drop in estrogen causes issues. Has anyone else experienced this an increase in symptoms as a result and at that time of month? If so any advice suggestions.

Up my dose for my patch? Supplements? Testertone?

I am under the care of the consultant for my back but want to make sure I am doing enough if this is more of an issue than I thought originally due to my history.

I am sorry you have so much pain. I had finished menopause, had last period when I was 49. I had early disc degeneration for my age and my first big sciatica flare up. Within months I was diagnosed with nerve compression in my neck. Then anxiety and hypertension. Menopause itself wasn’t bad, even without hormonal treatment. I never actually thought there was any connection but reading your post gave me something to think about . I was having hot flashes and wearing a soft cervical collar and lots of pain. Menopause complicates pain with night sweats and insomnia but at least it ends. I hope your symptoms ease especially the disc pain.

What progesterone are you on ? Utrogestan is ok but some progestins seem to have bad side effects
