Mini Pill (Desogestrel 75mg) with Graves Disease

Hello I just wondered if anyone knew if you are able to take the mini pill progesterone only pill with graves, I have been advised I will need to do blood tests every 6 weeks I will check with Doctors on Monday, just from everything I have come across online it only refers to oestrogen affecting hormone levels in blood, many thanks

Hi Jennifer, It's really hard to know on this. Personally, hormonal contraception (the ring) was what triggered my very first Graves flare. So I have stayed away from taking anything with hormones ever since. But I am not saying my experience will be yours for certain. I'd imagine people react differently to hormones.

I hope you get more responses and different experiences and can make a decision on all the information.

I would also check out Elaine Moore.com and see if she has any advice on this.
