How long are B12 serum levels affected by injections/sublingual
Hi everyone! It's been a long time since I posted here - long story short I eventually found out I have secondary hypothyrodism which was the cause of my symptoms and low b12 and ferritin! I am currently again having problems with low ferritin due to a drop in thyroid levels and had a question about

Acid Reflux
Hi all, Does anyone have any advice on dealing with Acid Reflux (other than taking Nexium or Gaviscon)? Mine seems to be triggered by smells rather than eating food, for example the smell of washing powder, perfume, paint, vinegar and peppermint all cause a reaction. Does anyone else get this? If so

OK to take B12 supplement when serum levels are high?
Hi everyone! I am currently trying to work on my low ferritin 23 (15-250) and I have previously ALWAYS had low b12 alongside my ferritin and whenever one goes up/down the other always follows. I had a non moving b12 of 198-215 for years and I was previously on b12 injections last year but they were stopped

Help with supplements please!
Hello all, I was hoping for some advice about supplements. Last week I had some great advice from SlowDragon , SeasideSusie and humanbean after my last blood tests. In summary: Low Ferritin at 24 (range 10-291), but blood iron and rest of FBC fine (apart from high % hypochromic cells), B12 good at 874 (

Could I ask for some advice on vitamins please?
Hello again, My GP recently started me on 25mg of Levothyroxine. She also asked me to start taking an iron supplement which I haven't done as yet. I need to improve my levels of a handful of vitamins and I'm not sure of the best way to do it. I'm due for another blood test in about 5/6 weeks to test

Chronic boils anyone?
I'm stage 3b due to chronic kidney infections causing "inflammatory changes." I take activated Vit B6, antioxidants, sodium bicarb and get prolonged sun exposure (Vit D). My immune system doesn't seem to be compromised. I caught my first cold in years and it was super mild and only lasted 3 days.

Do you supposed to feel anything for CKD? And what are the symptoms?
Hello everyone I found out I have CKD in the last October with 1.48 creatinine, I met a very unhelpful doctor who just told me to have a low protein diet, and I didn't know what it was so I had to go online googled, then I found out CKD patients shouldn't eat high potassium, high phosphorus, high sodium

Midway through Radium 223 and look what I caught....
The treatments have left me pooped but somehow I muster up and go ocean fishing for salmon. This is from Friday. Ocean season closes today.....I got out 7 times. Kicks my butt, but it really motivates me.

Hi all Since my last post my ENT specialist has started me on Levothyroxine 50mcg. My GP has done further bloods as my Medichecks result showed low ferritin and folate. But typically, GP rang me this morning saying ferritin and folate are within normal range so just take a multivitamin. She said she

First time using sodium picosulfate? We use senna too for 10 year old with hypermobility with constant uncontrolled soiling likely impacted
Hi I will write a longer post about my daughters problems ,,, But I have a quick question to start with ..... is Dulcolax (sodium picosulfate) a stool softener (in that it adds liquid to the poo to make it softer ?) I was lead to believe it was ... but on reading up it seems to be classed as a stimulant

Random attacks
I think most of us are aware of what causes flare ups, be it specific foods, stress etc. But does anyone just get random attacks for no reason? This week Iāve had 2 really bad bouts of diarrhoea, Imodium helped but I still have the cramps and general pains. Nothing unusual eaten this week, been good
