I think most of us are aware of what causes flare ups, be it specific foods, stress etc. But does anyone just get random attacks for no reason? This week I’ve had 2 really bad bouts of diarrhoea, Imodium helped but I still have the cramps and general pains. Nothing unusual eaten this week, been good with portion control, been active. All the things that normally keep it under control. I’m lucky that my symptoms are less severe than others and I’m much better than I was when I was younger, but it’s the randomness of attacks I can’t handle as it’s so limiting.

Random attacks
I seem to get random flare ups too, usually put it down to a build up of fodmaps or stress or both but sometimes there’s just no rhyme or reason to it!
Totally agree it seems not to matter what I eat I just keep pooing .. just starting blood tests at last hopefully get some sort of answer ... although eating bread which I love and gave up three months ago seems to have been a real trigger this week , advised my nurse to eat some before bloods .. not again !!! Could not stop going ..
I hate whatever I have so debilitating.. I feel for all my friends I. This site suffering the same, it drives you insane !!!!
That is me most of the time lately unfortunately. I do rely heavily on imodium but have to take many and it takes hours to work on me
Imodium wil never be the ANSWER - I am shure
Honestly I get flare ups during my time of the month which makes me believe it is also hormone related.
