Can Ketone Esters provide Ketones without a Ketone diet?
Back in 2013, Dr. Mary Newport gave a Ted talk on her re-discovery of MCT oil (she'd been aware of it for several years). In short, it greatly helped her husband with AZ. More recently, Ketone Esters are said to be even more potent than MCT oil. This video is from Dr Newport's talk. I've started looking

Hi, I'm still very much in that 'more questions than answers' phase regarding my health with a mix of thyroid, anaemia and perimenopause issues going on. Due to repeated low iron over many years, I'm thankful the NHS is now looking into the cause and I have a colonoscopy and gastroscopy arranged

I’m pretty new to this group but am very grateful to be part of this forum. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 2017 and started sodium risedronate around 2018. I took it until about 4 months ago when my Endocrinologist took me off to put me on Prolia, which she assured me had no contraindications

Husband’s recent iron panel labs show dire ferritin but other levels appear to say he shouldn’t supplement. Unless I’ve misunderstood
We requested an iron panel as it was clear his GP wasn’t going to offer even though husband falls asleep at the drop of a hat. I’m glad we asked because his ferritin is very low having fallen from his usual 50-90 over the years 26/07/22 Ferritin 19.2 (22 -322) Serum iron 21.4 (14 - 31.3) 42.77%

Hi all, I tested my iron level and I got: Iron 13 μmol/l (11-32) Transferrin 2.2 g/l (2.0-3.6) Transferrin saturation 23.5% (16-45) In 2020 I had the following: Serum iron 20.9 μmol/l (13-32) Serum transferrin 2.17 g/l (2.00-3.60) Serum unsaturated binding capacity 49μmol/l (45-70) Saturation

Metabolic Acidosis
Hi there I have a current GFR of 11. I am 27 years transplanted with my first kidney. I have metabolic acidosis as one of my problems. I was wondering if it causes any of you leg weakness. Some days I feel like I am walking through treacle. My legs are like jelly. Today I am like that. I am on sodium

B12 deficiency post cholecystectomy
I’m curious if there is any link to cholecystectomies and B12 deficiency. I had my gallbladder out and then 8 years later, b12 deficient. Have any of you had your gallbladder out and then had B12 deficiency occur afterwards?

Worth a Spit ? Why saliva could hold the answer
Trying to work out how B12 makes the journey: - Salivary glands produce Haptocorrin (HC), which binds to the B12 in food (the extrinsic factor) - HC/ B12 mix then travels on via oesophagus into the stomach - HC/B12 mix can survive the low PH of stomach - Parietal cells produce hydrochloric

Private testing - how to decide which tests? Resume supplements?
I'm so happy to have found this forum! Looking for some advice please on private testing. I suspect my thyroid function and possibly adrenal health has been poor for quite a long time, probably declining since late teens (I'm now perimenopausal, at 47 years old). My worst symptoms include brain fog

Blood Protein May Help Predict Diabetes, Death From Cancer— Prostasin commonly found in epithelial cells of organs - MedPage Today, 08/04/22
MedPage Today article about a blood marker I've never heard of, but one that might be worth getting done. Then again, as it seems to predict lifespan, maybe like the Horvath Clock (see link below), a case where for peace of mind it is better to live in the constant state where, at least for some things

RLS restlessness vs electric shock feeling
I had a question for everyone…. My RLS has the restlessness feeling but it also has the electric jolt feeling which is worse and it’s def more aggravating than the urge to move itself as anyone who I have spoke to knows I am a difficult case and my doctor and I are trying everything. I have recently

Hi everyone. Just looking for some advice about slow release Mebeverine. I take the 3 times daily Mebeverine which I seem to take as and when. I don't have flares but experience loose stools and cramps about twice a week and take Imodium. I have had ibsd for the past 20yrs and gall bladder removal

Radium 223 instead of enzalutamide
My dad mentioned that he’d like to come off enzalutamide because of always feeling tired and the doc has agreed and is now starting him on a course of Radium 223. The aim is to target 2 small bone mets and bring them under control. Apparently they are becoming more active so the enzalutamide hasn’t held
