I have a current GFR of 11. I am 27 years transplanted with my first kidney. I have metabolic acidosis as one of my problems. I was wondering if it causes any of you leg weakness. Some days I feel like I am walking through treacle. My legs are like jelly. Today I am like that. I am on sodium bicarbonate and epo injections for my anaemia. Loads of other meds
I have peripheral neuropathy both long and short fibre. And proximal myopathy. But this weakness comes and goes. Very depressing
Thank you x

My husband has a kidney transplant but never had the problem you are describing and I've never heard of. I just wanted to write to give my positive thoughts to you as you find answers to resolve this problem. Please don't lose faith, wow 27 yrs with the same transplant , you are doing many things correctly. big hugs
Thank you so much. I am very lucky to have my transplant so long. I suppose I just dread the idea of dialysis again. Just getting me down feeling so under the weather. Xxx
HI again, I totally understand feeling low. My spouse had his transplant almost 4 yrs ago and he felt better 'before' the transplant than he does now. Long story. I wish you well, I really do. Find something to distract you today, a book, a movie, a phone call to a friend, or something. hugs
I had that feeling of walking through treacle when I first experienced kidney failure, it literally happened overnight. It was accompanied by bouts of rapid breathing . Dialysis cleared the symptoms in a few days.
