The paradigm has shifted - castrate resistance.
Lupron
was started again. At that time my PSA was up to 13. (It took a while to get the PSMA scan and the subsequent MO and RO appointments) After about 7 weeks on
Lupron
my PSA fell to 2. But at the 4 month checkup my PSA had risen to 4 with my T level at 13 indicating castrate resistance.

Next step after completed Oligometastatic prostate cancer treatment..
In 2022 I completed six weeks of RT to three periaortic metastatic lymph notes and two lesions on ribs and started
Lupron
and Erleada in April 2022 till now. Because numerus SEs including progressing spine arthritis I'd like to stop HT and watch my PSA. For now PSA <0.02.

Still on
Lupron
for now. How long should I keep taking prednisone? I know Zytiga clears out pretty fast.

PSA now undetectable with 2 of 35 radiation treatments left.
Started Firmagon in September,
Lupron
in December. I feel more comfortable discussing my treatment with my doctors from the knowledge I gain here. Still more to learn and more questions to understand. I’m glad I have this group in my corner. thank you

Why do MO's continue to prescribe Lupron ADT for Castrate-Resistant men?
I've never understood why MO's continue to prescribe
Lupron
ADT (or equivalent ) for men who are
castrate-resistant (CRPC
). Isn't that the definition of CRPC, namely, that ADT is no longer working for those men?

I feel blessed since standard protocol was radiation to the pelvic area had 6 Month

My prostate journey and testosterone side effects
Began ADT (one 6 month shot-
Lupron
) in July followed by SBRT (5 treatments) in August. For me the SBRT was the way to go--no Space-OAR gel and no side effects. The
Lupron
was a whole another story, however.

Dad 2nd BCR. Advice needed...
After a very late salvage radiation + 1 year
Lupron
. He has been off ADT for 1 year when PSA began to rise again. From 0.01 to 0.03 in less than 2 months then 0.05 after another 3 months. Is this indicative of an aggressive progression and metastasis?

How many estrogen patches to use?
In this latter case, men should be able to simply replace
Lupron
ADT with high-dose transdermal estrogen (patches, gels, or IM shots). Or, they can combine
Lupron
ADT + transdermal estrogen (either low-dose or high-dose).

After 5.5 years on
Lupron
(no Zytiga, Xtandi, Daro, etc.), my PSA hit its highest points ever (1.92), although I'm still not 2 points above my lowest reading of 0.5 (only one of those). I'm metastatic and was at diagnosis, so still have prostate.
