Blood tests GCA
When bloods done for GCA should the ESR level and the Serum C reactive protein marker be tested.. The nurse seems to have stopped requesting the latter.

4 weeks of Keto
I have now been on Keto with TRE (16 hours) for 4 weeks exactly. I am going to switch to low carb from today, and my current plan is to go full Keto again in 2 months' time. I checked the ketones with a stick this morning and they are in a small amount range. I think that can be explained by the

Any help understand these blood works please. Would be helpful. I’d spoke to GP on Monday and she said she run blood test, and go for a scan as well to see what’s going on. Blood test came back the same day. (But used to this by now) but would be interested to know what is going on. Thanks for any

House like a Pharmacy
After having another crappy night and day in pain I had a mild panic today when I thought I'd ran out of Rennie's, non left in the 'bedside pharmacy' so ran to the large shelf I now have in the kitchen. On opening the cupboard I was greeted with a large box of pain killers falling on my head, whilst

What are optimal thyroid levels?
Hi, as with many with thyroid problems it feels like we keep hitting a brick wall as goes for finding help. I have had private and blood tests on the NHS to confirm I have Peroxidase antibodies so therefore Hashimoto's. I've had suggested that it may actually be the pituitary that may be the actual issue

Cholesterol and Statins
Just had results of Cholesterol test which is 6.2 (up from 4.8 three years ago and pre PMR). Started a low carb diet as soon as prescribed Prednisolone and it has certainly stopped me from gaining. Weight but has meant that I have had to add more fat to my diet for energy. I am guessing that this has

Hello
I'm new here so just saying "hello". 71 years old retired anesthetist. Had a PSA of 5.7 in Sept 2020. In November 2020 had an MRI guided biopsy by Dr Busch in Chattanooga Tn - Gleason 9 (4+5) confined to the prostate. Bone scan and pelvic CT clear at that time. My Urologist referred me to Dr Lavey

Carbs and inflammation
I had been weirdly regretful that I wasn't suffering from inflammation previously, so I wasn't able to rejoice in it going away with low carb. I have eaten very carby meals on about 4 occasions in the last 18 months, with no apparent side effects. Until last night, when I was sat in front of a plate

Asthma has been rubbish this week :(
Hi all, so on Monday I went to the GP and was given a course of steroids. My oxygen was good and peak flow was ok. But my throat and chest just felt tight. I think the pollen is pretty high at the moment and I'm still struggling to stay of the cigarettes so I know that isn't helping :( Also I suffer

Feelings about FeNo testing

Conflicting diet plans
I have had heart attack, stents and bypass surgery, and was advised to follow a
low
carb, high
protein
diet
. But now I have developed a gall bladder problem and am told I need to go on a low fat diet. Getting balanced information on what that means is difficult.

Diet - my story so far!
When diagnosed with PMR...within 2 months I was diagnosed prediabetic. I was already overweight from steroids for lung issues a few years ago, and hadn't been able to shift the excess. I went onto the keto diet, while on 15mg steroids. I lost a stone in 7 weeks but as soon as I stopped it it went back
