Lightheaded / Dizzyness
Hi, My surgery was 7 weeks ago where I received a replacement mechanic mitral valve. I'm a 36 year old male and I've been prescribed Warfrin, Losartan & Bisoporol. I constantly feel lightheaded or Dizzy. It's mild when I'm still and more intense when I move, including bad head rushes when I stand up

Exercise and B/P
Hi all. I’m on 100mg Losartan and my bp is still erratic and the dr mentioned a 2nd tablet. That’s ok and it is what it is but this week for the first time my readings have been nice and low on the days I do exercise, Pilates and brisk walks/run (I’m beginning a run program again as was running before

Flutter & Afib
I'm in permanent fib for last 8 years. Recently getting a flutter. No pain or discomfort just a bit weird. Came off of Bisoprolol and Amlodipine couple of years ago due to side effects. Doctor agreed. I know I have to make another appointment but would like to arm myself with some knowledge before.

Lisinopril or Losartan?
I've read the ACE's and ARB's are all good for those with CKD and HBP. Sometimes when you start them, they may cause a temporary dip in eGFR, but it recovers. Then I read some posts on here saying Lisinopril is bad for kidneys? Any insights?

Update with Nephrology, Losartan discontinued from my treatment plan
To give an update for today, I talked with Nephrology and losartan was discontinued for now. I was told that hypoglycemia was a rare side effect of the medication so they would like for me to repeat labs in 2-4 weeks. As for my kidney function decreasing, I was told that the increase in BUN and Creatinine

Migraine & Blood Thinners
Hello All, I have recently found out that my replacement aortic valve which I had fitted in 2017 is not performing well. The cardiologist I have seen says this is possibly due to a clot over the valve and has put me on Apixaban which I tolerated for one week having had four classic migraines with aura

Flue-like symptoms with blood pressure medication
I wonder if I may take this opportunity to ask a question on this excellent forum site. I am an 84 year old male, who has been prescribed various blood pressure medications over the past 35 years. Presently I take one 25mg tablet of Losartan for blood pressure, and one 20 mg Citalopram for anxiety.

Lorsatan and Exercise
Hi all, I finally bit the bullet last week and started losartan 25mg as per instructions from doctor. Couple of questions How long does it take to have any effect? Does losartan effect exercise, I’m a keen cyclist and since taking it I feel a little off balance and chest seems to hurt more than normal

Desperate Dawn rides againupdate
Update on BP issue, following a very annoying week or so of being fobbed off I blew my top today and demanded to speak to the practice manager. I said I was strongly considering a formal complaint. Recap: a month ago I had a faint, very low BP and was advised to cut Losartan dose in half. All ok for

BP saga continues......
Just a quick update, after being told to cut down my Losartan to half the dose(50mg instead of 100) my BP stabilised for about a week. Then started to drop again, spoke to next Dr and told to drop Losartan altogether. All good, then the last 3 days have had reading higher than for about 8 years ( 140-

Carry on Cardio!
Hi folks Trying to figure out what is going on with my blood pressure. A month ago I had a fainting episode as reported on here, checked BP few hours later and was low (87/50) and was advised by GP to drop half my Losartan dose. Monitoring BP as requested,it seemed to go up steadily and settle. I noted

New to high blood pressure
How long did it take for your blood pressure to settle and go down? I’m taking 50mg Losartan but was on ramipril for a little while before that, I got the cough with it and changed. My b/p is still erratic and I started the meds just 3 months ago. The gp is calling me next week x

Have have thyroid test done and was normal. Dermatologist can find no reason for my hair loss. Do believe the stress of the situation is increasing
