Losartan 12.5 mg for proteinuria
Hi all, My husband has persistent, unexplained proteinuria. His new Nephrologist prescribed him 12.5 mg of Losartan to start with. His blood pressure is averaging 99 or 100 over 67 or 68 so she doesn't want it going below 100/60. Have any of you had similar situations and what were the results? His

Kardia showed normal sinus rhythm with wide QRS
I have the Kardia and have the advanced determination so it records 6 arrhythmias I have so far stayed in NSR for last 34 days, from July it has been every 7/10 days, so really pleased. But did one tonight and it gave normal sinus rhythm with wide QRS I have clicked on it and it says something about

I have been on losartan potassium 50mg for a few years now and have no side effects as far as I know. How ever my systolic bloodpressure does not seem to come down although the diastolic is reasonabke 170/84. If I take more the diastolic gets too low and makes me dizzy - I am in the UK and do not get

Proteinuria and arbs
Hi, I have 800-1000 mg. proteinuria. I'm on 25 mg. of losartan and new Dr. wants to double it. I'm apprehensive about it as I am 118 lb. 5'6" 61 yr old. My old neph whom I had from start didn't want to increase when I asked her last year. I've heard it can backfire on you. Anyone with experience with

Is Losartan good or bad for kidneys?
I have read that ARBs is one of the handful of drugs that can improve kidney function. I have been taking losartan for several years. CKD stage 3a or 3b, my eGFR tends to vary. Anyway, I just read the posts about how losartan can be bad for creatinine/eGFR and wonder what other people taking ARBs have

Hi everyone, 4 weeks since diagnosis of Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Currently taking Losartan. EF 32. I am 53. So far had ct scan, echocardiogram, angiogram and mri scan. Consultant is definitely getting all the relevant information he needs. But, I feel that I'm not getting any interim support. I

PERSISTENT COUGH
Hello Everyone.. I am new here and would appreciate your comments. I stopped smoking in May 2004. Since early 2005, I developed the most irritating cough which comes & goes very often. I am under a Consultant and he wants to send me to the "cough hospital" as, like my GP, he is totally baffled. I

Sudden jump in creatinine and BUN, and drop in GFR after being on Valsartan for 13 years with no problem
A few years ago, I had a sudden huge jump in creatinine (1.6 to 3.4!) and BUN (30 to 100!) after being on Valsartan for 13 years with no problem. I know this can happen immediately after starting the drug, but I haven't been able to find any research indicating it can do this after 13 years. My nephrologist

Could one simple change in medication change my GFR? I have COPD, Atrial fibrillation, High Blood Pressure, plus.
Six months ago my eGFR was 41, then in Oct it was 38. My doctor suggest I cut the dosage of Losartan from 50mg to 25 mg, test my BP and come back in 2 weeks for another blood test. Well I just got the results of the last test and my eGFR is now 50. IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE? I am glad if it is, but I also

New to amlodipine
Similar experience, I was prescribed amlodipine in addition to losartan as my bp was 'up'.Tbh felt more than a bit unsteady for quite a while on it, but persevered and after a few weeks 'felt' normal again, with bp reducing to 130/75. That was a few months ago, everything fine since.

Request for assistance in interpreting blood test when GP is satisfied but I am not, and still feel terrible...
Hello, first post here after a couple of months reading. I was diagnosed hypothyroid about twelve years ago and given radioactive iodine treatment (and little alternative - I knew very little then and was scared into it by talk of heart attacks, etc). Since then I have been on levthyroxine. My dosage

Losartan not effective
After my procedure with stent my doctor asked my GP to keep my BP at 135/80 on discharge note. I was on rampril 2.5 mg for sometime which was fairly successful for few weeks but then I had dry cough at nights and BP was also shooting up 150 /100 . When I spoke to gp (doctor) they changed it losartan

LOW BLOOD PRESSURE
A somewhat new development for me has me wondering if there could be any relationship to our illness, so I'm seeking comments. My Blood Pressure has been dropping over time, and I did lose some weight in the last year, but I find it hard to imagine its because of the weight. One year ago I was 254

Post biopsy doctors visit
So yesterday me and my husband had our post biopsy visit. The doctor confirmed the diagnosis of IGA nephpropathy. He is going to start him on Losartan 50mg twice a day to lower his protein output. He will take a blood test again next month to see how he is doing on it. Has anyone had the same experience

High blood pressure
I am a 45 year old woman. I discovered I had high BP when I had to go to hospital for heavy bleeding. It read 230/180 which was a surprise to me, actually I was very afraid. Doctor prescribed losartan 50mg at first then 100mg. Ally bloods came back normal. It has come down to a better reading of 140

Should I be worried
In June this year I had a second ablation which after a few blips was successful. Three weeks ago I had covid, a very mild dose with just a runny nose and a slight cough. Ten days ago back in afib. Fortunately I had an existing appointment with cardiologist last Tuesday. My BP was 103/66 and pulse
