I’m on 100mg Losartan and my bp is still erratic and the dr mentioned a 2nd tablet. That’s ok and it is what it is but this week for the first time my readings have been nice and low on the days I do exercise, Pilates and brisk walks/run (I’m beginning a run program again as was running before covid) but these are just 2 x a week. The other days I rest up and just potter about with housework and shopping and my bp stays above the 149/90 threshold. Is this normal? Also if I go to 2 tablets will my bp then go too low on days I do exercise??
I know exercise helps but I can’t do Pilates or run every day as I will end up crashing with my long covid. GP will be calling me next week but thought get views here too.

I do my walks each day but this is the first time it’s happened after significant exercise, but I have long covid and if I ‘exercised’ at the same rate as Pilates and running I would relapse with long covid so I do need my rest days.
Both exercise and meds in my case and my bp is nice and low now instead of being catastrophically high.I'm afraid no amount of walking would sort a bp of 244/133 without meds.
Yeah, I’m about 5,000 steps a day. It’s just weird how just this week the exercise I am doing is finally making a difference with my bp, have been trying to get my bp under control for 5/6 months now, and I’m worried if I go onto 2 tablets that if it goes too low on my exercise days. The running I’m doing may still make me crash too and the last crash my bp was averaging 155/114 and that was just last month.
well if u doing 5,ooo steps a day its not much, you could do that with pottering about,i do 4,ooo at 7.30 in morn 3 times a day plus general pottering about, so about 30,ooo, and i only walk.
Before covid I was walking 5-8 miles with my job, then running 2x a week with 1x circuit session so yeah maybe that kept my potential high bp at bay as dr thinks I must of been pre susceptible to it before covid sped up that process.
My BP went haywire after my 2nd Covid jab so probably something in it and I guess gentle exercise is probably sensible for you for now. I've just tested positive for Covid this morning, feeling a bit worried as I also have diabetes. I cried like a big baby when the hairdresser sent a text saying I had to pay a £40 cancellation fee as I didn't give 48 hours notice! 😔
Oh no!! Surely they should understand when it’s covid you can’t give notice! Hope the virus stays mild and you recover quickly. Biggest tip is rest as much as you need to xx
I take 50mg.Losartan with 2.50mg Filodipine.Works fairly well but achey tingly.anxious feelings accompanied with stomach ache.BB about 122/72 daytime but goes up to 140/72 in evening.
wow this was 2 yrs ago, so time for an update. Soo I’ve had covid 2 more times and told I have PEM (Post Exertion Malaise) and waiting to see a neurologist as now have neuropathy in my feet and hands soo I’m not running and I’m not doing 5,000 steps a day yet.
As for my BP I am now on amlodipine as well. My bp is finally behaving itself and only rises when my pem kicks in or im unwell. Long Covid is a frustrating experience.
