I've read the ACE's and ARB's are all good for those with CKD and HBP. Sometimes when you start them, they may cause a temporary dip in eGFR, but it recovers. Then I read some posts on here saying Lisinopril is bad for kidneys? Any insights?

Lisinopril or Losartan?
They are supposed to help stop the protein leakage. I think long term, no med is any good for you.
They may cause a tiny dip in gfr. I notice my creatinine went up form 1.10-1.15 but it’s been steady there a long time. I’m pretty sure every medication has potential side effects so I wouldn’t read too much into it. I was prescribed losartan and read some horror stories about it but so far my experience has been good.
I asked my nephrologist about Losartan as I am taking it and had concerns. He said it is actually preservative of the kidneys and he prescribes it for kidney patients with CKD. I have been taking it for over a year and haven’t noticed any change in my creatinine or eGFR.
My neph put me on Losartan and Diltiazem. My BP was 105/81 this morning but whenever I go to the dr office it gets to 133/90 or so. My eGFR keeps dropping so I'm not sure what else I can do. The Losartan raises my potassium so I have to watch what I eat. I am at 22% as of Mar and have an appt in Jun where I will be talking to a renal dietician along with my neph.
I have been taking Lisinopril for over 16 years. My kidney function has not declined much at all and when my nephrologist prescribed it, he told me it was a preventive measure for my ADPKD. At that time, I did not have high blood pressure. It was just to keep my kidneys from getting worse. So far it has worked, but I am only one person, so I would check with other people too.
