M partner was diagnosed with primary hcc cancer in liver ( as well as cirrhosis ). They are saying that he can have ablation on the lesion or possibly resection but first they need to speak to the surgeon who is at another hosital as they dont do resection at the Norfolk and Norwich hospital.
The nurse called yesterday to tell him that the surgeon has looked at his MRI pictures and doesn't think it is what he was told at our local hosital and he thinks it could be something else. He wants him to have CT scan this week.
What could that mean we are wondering. The nurse didnt seem to know.
Just wondered has anyone else had this confusion ? Thank you

Hi, the m under the n&n, he would have been referred to a surgeon at Addenbrookes, who are the experts. If they have requested a CT scan it will be to get more information before they see him.I had a silly accident a couple months ago and went to a&e at n&n, had a ct scan and doctors terrified me by saying my liver was bleeding ( I've had a transplant so this was major) they sent the scans to Addenbrookes who said no it wasn't what they were seeing was something related to transplant.
The team at Addenbrookes really are the experts and you are in good hands with them, their radiologists and surgeons are these things ever day.
Hi, It’s horrible waiting for answers and very tempting to try and second guess what they might be thinking but it’s best to just wait and see what they decide. The N&N isn’t a million miles from Addenbrookes which has a specialist liver centre and a transplant centre so if they’ve consulted someone there, your husband is in good hands.
