How I overcame IBS-D
Dear all, I periodically post this advice to help new-comers to the subject. I consider myself a recovered IBS-sufferer and so like to share what I learned. I hope that you are keeping sane during the lockdown! This is my general approach to help people understand and repair their gastro-intestinal

CORONA VIRUS / COVID-19/SARS COV-2 And Some Potential Help
This seems like a good time to start a thread discussing the latest developments regarding SARS COV-2 / Corona Virus(CV-19). Given that it seems to move quickly to new areas that were previously unaffected, being as prepared as is reasonably possible seems to make sense, but is there really a good way

Anyone find calcium tablets difficult to stomach?
Has anyone found that taking calcium tablets doesn’t agree with them? I started taking Accrete D3 on Monday, each film coated tablet contains cholecalciferol 400IU and calcium 600mg ( as calcium carbonate 1500mg) and I take 2 a day. The excipients are hydrogenated soya-bean oil and sucrose. I’ve felt

How are your calcium and PTH levels?
I had RAI treatment for Graves 40 years ago. 10 years ago, I was diagnosed with a parathyroid adenoma and had that removed. (by the way--people who took radio active iodine are advised by the NDC to have their PTH hormone levels tested every 5 years) Recently I have suffered from insomnia and extreme

Is our Poo a Crystal Ball into our health destiny ? Auntie Bee did a little research to see if the truth is in our bowels.
After reading a post yesterday suggesting that using DNA or Gut Microflora testing may help me see into the Future of my long term health my curiosity was peeked . Is the Bioflora of my gut the " forgotten organ" with insight into the probability of my chances to get another autoimmune disease or cancer

What other options there are for patients with bipolar, bpd, or aggressive behavior;else than "shutting down/mentally foging/" meds?
Side question: Can you have a good productive life (not just an okay bearable life) and live normally despite of having an antipsychotic in your blood? I hate antipsychotics in general. Already had mdd diagnosis with the adhd and resistance to ssris(2 types) . And I'm avoiding getting tested for hypomania

Tomorrow nephrologist appt. first visit
Tomorrow is my first appt with a Nephrologist. I referred myself, as my PCP is not taking my 3 month GFR range 52-57, dehydration, and anemia very seriously. His advice? Drink tons of h20 with lemon and reduce protein intake a lot. My potassium, sodium, and protein levels are normal. Blood pressure is

Further to someone mentioning bicarbonate of soda, I’ve been doing a bit of research. I found an article that is interesting. See “the cause and cure for rheumatoid arthritis”. Medcraveonline.com. Article written by Robert O Young. I don’t believe everything I read but there could be something in

Tiredness & Depression
I'm 82 years old, and new here. I experienced neck, jaw pain (I could only swallow liquids), thigh pain when walking, and double vision. At the beginning of November 2019, I was diagnosed with GCA at Rheumatology. I was prescribed 60mg of Prednisolone for 4 weeks and reduced by 10mg every two weeks.

Possible causes of Ataxia
🙂 This is a ‘long read’ and may be difficult to interpret, but never the less it’s interesting. What processes can cause ataxia? The pathophysiology of cerebellar ataxias is as diverse as the various neurological and systemic diseases affecting the cerebellum. Broadly classifying ataxias into genetic

Finally took the plunge and started a self-trial of Levothryoxine (after 12 months procrastination)
What led up to all of this was being treated by Psychiatry for 7 months with
lithium
carbonate
, as a mood stabiliser for bipolar disorder. All of my physical symptoms just worsened while on lithium, albeit my mental health was improved.

Very Inept Therapist!
When we moved to a Kansas it was very stressful. I have never talked about it here I believe, but I have bipolar disorder. About 8 years ago a therapist I saw in Salt Lake put me on a Lithium. It is a dinosaur of a drug. Well, my therapy team here immediately took me off the Lithium. Bear in mind I have
