Coming off Lithium cold turkey
My doctor told me that because of my lab results I need to go off of Lithium I had been taking 300 mg a day. So as a person with bipolar I’m curious if anyone has any experience going off of Lithium?

Excess saliva, swallowing issues, PEG
Hello everyone, My husband was just diagnosed with PSP a few weeks ago, mostly because he suddenly developed swallowing difficulties. This has progressed very rapidly and since April 9th he has been unable to manage more than a few tablespoons of applesauce daily to take necessary prescription medication

Low dose Lithium to prevent dementia in Parkinson’s
I have been prescribed low dose , 180 mg, Lithium as a prophylactic for dementia in Parkinson’s. I wondered if anyone has heard of or has experience with this medication for this or knows of references to research. I’m being cautious because of the potential of making my chronic kidney disease worse

I take my Levothyroxine 1st thing an hour before food but not sure which are suitable foods to eat for breakfast
I’ve read in the Role of Vitamins & Minerals in Thyroid Disease leaflet, that taking iron at the same time as thyroid hormone will bind with some of the thyroid hormone & block it’s absorption. Also, fibre & calcium carbonate if taken simultaneously with thyroid hormone, may also interfere with absorption

When do you give up....
On a supplement! I completely understand these things take time. However, my father is willing to trial supplements that have NO effect, but he feels something we added is contributing to fatigue and difficulty speaking in the last several days What we have started so far (with 2 day gap in between)

Low dose lithium
I just started taking 1mg of lithium each morning. I have been reading about low-dose lithium for several years. I am looking forward to potential benefits. https://www.lifeextension.com/magazine/2020/7/anti-aging-effects-of-lithium

RLS and Azelastine HCL nose spray
Suddenly I started getting RLS, even on low dose Methadone. I am thinking it is the Azelastine as it is an antihistamine, but I cannot find any literature on it. The only other thing that changed was a slight reduction in Lithium. I don't have any discontinuation symptoms, so I don't think it is that

Mission Accomplished; Return to HU
What a year! Covid or not, I focused on the necessary task of relocating my husband and myself to another city in order to be closer to family. He has Lewy Body Dementia, and I have PD, so it's a no-brainer, right?! Selling a house, buying a house, downsizing, packing, moving are stressful at best

Blood test result/ advice on meds
I was reduced to 15mg Carbimazole about 4 weeks ago and my blood test from the GP now says: Serum TSH level 1.73 miu/L [0.3 - 5.5] "normal" They don't test further if normal, but I do have a form from endo so they will test more but I don't have an appointment with them until April 20th. So 6 weeks away

How long has recovery taken ?
Hi, Something that has been playing on my mind a lot recently is worry over ending up being diagnosed as bi-polar. I was admitted to hospital in January 2019 when my son was 12 weeks old with postpartum psychosis and we spent 8 weeks in the mother and baby unit. I have been on lithium and Olanzapine

Since PwP are at increased risk for Osteoporosis and Osteopenia, I am writing this post to illustrate how once again, Melatonin may be quite useful for the purpose of staving off or preventing Osteoporosis or Osteopenia. The following Meta Analysis discusses the relationship of Osteoporosis

Stage 1 CKD
I'm a retired nephrology nurse. Currently I have a diagnosis of Stage 1 CKD related to lithium toxicity (diagnosed several years ago). I'm interested in and have ordered the book written by Lee Hull.
