Shingles jab and PMR
A lady I know believes her PMR was caused by the shingles jab she was recently offered at the age of 70. I’d never heard this before and I wondered if it’s a widely shared view and if so is there any evidence to back it up?

When is it not Parkinson's disease?
I see so many people here on HU asking about their progression and if it's normal. I believe that PD is used as a garbage can when the diagnosis is uncertain and the patient demands and answer from the doctor. Later, when there is a poor response to drugs, people start to question their diagnosis. There

Oral thrush?
Hi guys, As some of you know already I’ve just started taking Levothyroxine I’ve had around 8days worth so far but I have now got what appears to be oral thrush... do you think this could be a reaction to the tablets or maybe just another illness as I’m so run down? Tia x

Keppra
After nearly 3 years off of phenytoin (Dilantin) I have been rediagnosed with epilepsy. I have been placed on 500 mg levetiraceta (Keppra). I had also just recently had Gabapentin added to my Ropinirole regimen, to help with my RLS. I was assured I could take the everything together and I was sleeping

Ongoing RLS sufferer
I have been a sufferer of RLS for ten years and more and currently on increasing dose of Ropinirole which has been more successful than pramixepole and gabapentin for me. I have noticed if I get ill with cold/flu the RLS disappears. Not a good exchange though but it helps me to sleep through illness

Trying to push through the pain
I take comfort in reading these posts, although I wish that none of us had to deal with RLS. I just flew from Raleigh to NYC to pet sit my grandpups. I was in a panic that RLS was going to kick in on the flight, so I had two glasses of wine. When I got to my kids apartment I was so relieved, I had another

PMR and chicken pox
I have just spent Christmas with my granddaughter she’s 18 months old who has just come down with chicken pox. What precautions should I take? No symptoms so far.

How do you deal with RLS?
Hello, I’ve been dealing with RLS for at least ten years. At times, it keeps me up for hours. Currently I’m taking 3mg of Ropinirol at bedtime, and have also tried Mirapex. Some nights it works and other nights nothing helps. I’ve tried bathing, massage, walking, cold packs, etc. If anyone had advice

Newly Diagnosed
I had my first seizure 1 week and 1 day after I left secondary school. After a series of tests ect I was diagnosed with epilepsy on the 11th October this year. Originally I had an EEG and an MRI which showed that I had epilepsy. The MRI also showed that I have got a bleed on my brain. Which I think I

Normal MRI, EEG -don’t feel normal Vm from shingles
Hi Things keep coming back ‘normal’ but I still get tired and have jerks and a little bit of “ataxia” when tired. I don’t think this is a “functional” or conversion disorder, since this only happened after meningitis but I keep wondering what’s wrong with me? Is it just meningitis recovery?

Pulmonary fibrosis
My sister in-law has RA but was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis this past September. Has anyone else experienced this and what course of action was taken. My SIL is on oxygen 24/7 and is on a lung transplant list. Anyone have similar issues?

Cold sweats
My son was recently diagnosed with Epilepsy and HF AUTISM. I don't know much, but lots of reading I suspect it's nocturnal although the EEG picked up spikes awake too. He cries, tosses and twitched in his sleep. He hasn't had any grand-mal seizures. Can cold sweats be related to his epilepsy or medication

Cutting back on Requip
When I started RLS only happened at night, now its all day long. Im suppose to take Requip 1mg four times daily. Also Gabapentin 300mg 3yimes a day. Problem is I seem to need it every 3 hours or I am miserable. Can I cut the Requip in half so I dont run out? If I take 1of each pill when I go to bed
