Cold sweats

My son was recently diagnosed with Epilepsy and HF AUTISM. I don't know much, but lots of reading I suspect it's nocturnal although the EEG picked up spikes awake too. He cries, tosses and twitched in his sleep. He hasn't had any grand-mal seizures. Can cold sweats be related to his epilepsy or medication, he is on Tegretol? He is 3 and a half and will be dripping in sweat but complain that he is cold. Where do I find support or support groups as I feel quite lost in this.

Hi, my son didn’t have any side effects other than being very lethargic and on “Zombie mode” but since then we have switched over to a different tablet which brought him back a bit more and contained the nocturnal events. From what you’re describing I would really just try and see a neurologist as soon as possible to describe these symptoms and let them advise. I can’t think that it would be the tegretol since the dosage is twice a day if i’m not mistaking? So he would show signs in the morning too. I can tell you one thing with absolute certainty - when my son gets sick, especially fever - the “epilepsy” acts up a lot. I out it in brackets because he’s never has a seizure but he will have episodes where things spin too fast, gets very loud, alice in wonderland syndrome etc. So might be worthwhile to just check tonsils etc.
