Less than a week to go....... :(
I care for my younger sister who has
learning
disabilities
and is an adult child. She has coped remarkably well about losing mum, but has not really shown much grief about dad. I know they did not have the same relationship. He loved her but did not have the patience or rapport that we have.

Viral Meningitis Headache help please...
I am new to the site. I had viral meningitis about ten weeks ago. Although the lumbar puncture didn't show this definitively, I had all the symptoms regarded as those of VM and spent 6 days in hospital. Now I'm struggling with the headache, neck ache, stiff back, dizziness and general feeling of exhaustion

Meniere's disease?
I have an appointment with ENT on the 11th after after explaining my symptoms with my doctor and a hearing test ! I am getting more apprehensive as it get's closer because the doctor feels it may be Meniere's disease. I'm hoping the cause may be something else! Can anyone tell me their experience

MRI scan very very noisy and had issues about ear plugs.
I went for MRI scan to look into my inner ear yesterday and after wards my hyperacusis was louder. I went home and could hear all the different banging, clanging and thudding sounds of the machine all night long in my bed. I knew beforehand there was a risk so I took my own ear plugs which were superior

A couple of boxes ticked ✅ after getting Neonatal BM
My little man has had his 8 week check which thankfully he passed on head control and passed his hearing test. Yeay He has his follow up care meeting yesterday and they did a couple of Basic tests they were happy with. Fingers crossed! We are quietly optimistic for the future. We are so proud of him

Long-term tinnitus problem. Any help/advice please
Hello all, this is my first post on here. I have had a form of tinnitus for almost two and a half years now, and the medical professional seems incapable of diagnosing or treating the problem. I have been to several GPs, had an MRI scan (clear) and last month finally got to see a specialist after a ten-month

B12 and Trigeminal Neuralgia
My story follows the usual pattern. Two years, 7 GP’s, 5 consultants, a dozen or more blood tests, 2 ECG’s, 2 chest x-rays, 1 nerve conduction test, 1 hearing test and 1 brain MRI (involving 2 flights to Glasgow paid for by the NHS) only to turn full circle to arrive at a diagnosis of Vitamin B12

Hearing aid experience/recommendations?
I recently went along to a BTA support group for the first time (I highly recommend going!). One of the key learnings from many I spoke to was that a hearing aid can really help, especially when you're having a T spike. I got referred by my GP to our local ENT team and was lucky enough to be seen by

Worrying
Have an MRI tomorrow, initially went to the GP because I thought I had an ear infection. Had Tinnitus in one ear and a feeling of pressure in there too. It was clear but I was referred for a hearing test, which showed a slight loss but not much more than would be expected at my age, I'll be 60 in 5 days

QUESTIONS and ANSWERS -by Prof David Baguley,
When will there be a cure for tinnitus? Major efforts are underway around the world towards really effective treatments, new spirit of collaboration, but I can’t put a timescale on this. Can tinnitus be related to Pernicious Anaemia? I don’t know of any direct link, but any medical condition that

Useful Link to keep a check on your hearing
Hello, I thought I would share this link as I have had some hearing issues after being diagnosed with PMR and I wish I had taken this hearing test at the onset so I could keep a track of it. Hope you find it useful, I use it as a differential test (didn't bother to calibrate it) always using the same

Hearing loss
Hi, I'm 39 and my ears have not been right for 5 months now. I have been told I have fluid in my ears and have been taking antihistamines and using nasal sprays but no better. My hearing is 'down' and after a hearing test at boots they confirmed moderate hearing loss. I currently have another ear infection

Tinnitus and hearing aid with generator
Does anyone sometimes not hear the generator noise in their hearing aid and just the tinnitus at times? I know its tailored to my hearing test and the noises I described. I should have had mine at a higher level as the audiologist wanted but found the level scary at the appointment and she turned it

Vitamin D Levels
Rang my GP to ask for my results following my defiency testing in Vitamin B12, Folate, D etc etc... Apparantly everything came back normal but Vitamin D has 'review' next to it for the dr to review with me at my appointment on Monday. My Vitamin D is '32' apparently. Is that deficient? Basically I've

Crackle and pop
Does anyone else suffer with ears that continually crackle (when moving jaw or trying to pop them through yawning etc)?!? Any idea what it is ( different from tinnitus) During my hearing test I asked if there was a blockage that could be causing the hearing loss I'm experiencing and they most enfatically
