I'm looking for advice for a doc appointment first thing on Tuesday.
Where to start? This may become rambling so head out and make yourself a cuppa before you commit. OK, I was feeling rough (rougher than normal) back in April, got a thyroid test to see what my levels were, TSH below range, T4 mid range, T3 below range. I came here and we chatted and decided that I needed

A low omega-3 index is just as strong a predictor of early death as smoking
A new research paper published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition last week showed that a low omega-3 Index is just as powerful in predicting early death as smoking. This landmark finding is rooted in data pulled and analyzed from the Framingham study, one of the longest running studies in

No intensification - is doc too laid back?
With a BRCA 2 mutation, Gleason 9, low PSA and intraductal cancer, I was preparing for “Total Combat” with a sharp intensification of my medication, which is now limited to ADT in the form of transdermal estrogen. “Hit the cancer hard and early”. To my surprise, doc suggests no added medication at all

Statins and levo
I have been treated for hypothyroidism for several years now and have been stable for the last few. Given my latest cholesterol results - 8.2 mmol/l, up from 6.2 three years ago, of which HDL is 2.1 - I’m assuming my GP is going to want me to take statins. I was shocked as I have been eating all the

Need thyroid plus other blood tests
Been on NDT for a few years now - coming up for prescription renewal and looking for companies that will do thyroid blood tests and other things as well such as HbA1c, insulin and other markers such as CRP, ESR and LDH. Thanks.

Nopal Cactus, a Miracle Food! 😋🌻🌞❤️🌺
It may reduce cholesterol while overall levels of cholesterol dropped,
LDL
cholesterol (or “bad” cholesterol) dropped significantly. Nopal cactus may be able to lower cholesterol with much fewer side effects than traditional cholesterol medications. 7. It can eliminate hangovers.

Queries :)
My cholesterol was slightly above and has been for a while (it's 6 and should be below 5.2,
LDL
cholesterol is 3.7 and should be below 3.4 according to these figures). Is this common for Hashi's? Thank you for any assistance you're able to offer!

Dr Andrew Jenkinson book
The author seems to dispute the demonising of saturated fat, going into details about
ldl
cholesterol particle sizes, etc, and comes down very heavily indeed on sugar, as the uber villain. Seed oils are in the firing line too.
