I had nephritis as a child (back in the early 60's it was treated in hospital by a complete fruit diet - that was all I could eat for several weeks) and was told that I would suffer from high blood pressure when I got older as a result. Roll on (many) years and at 65 I do have high blood pressure but it is treated with Amlodopine and seems OK. My cholesterol, however, is high but I am reluctant to take statins. I tried them when this first started and felt so achy and sluggish I stopped almost straight away. I would be grateful to know if these readings are truly appalling or just marginally rubbish!! I also suffer from Hashimotos, treated with Levothyroxine plus I am around a stone overweight?
