Hello medically-minded people Tryimg to decide whether to take statins or not. This is my latest cholesterol test readings. Would oral iron be useful given my Iron levels (in description)?
I have RLS and got some bloodwork done. The following came up: IRON , SERUM 91.0 µg/dL TOTAL IRON BINDING CAPACITY ( TIBC), SERUM 353 µg/dL FERRITIN , SERUM 116.1 ng/mL I was wondering if Oral Iron would be useful for me or end up giving me toxic levels of it.

Histamine and PV
Hi Everyone, I'm newly diagnosed with PV at the age of 49, and am largely symptom-free at the moment, which I am still surprised by considering my haematocrit at diagnosis was 0.70! Home has been Sydney for the last 18 months (I'm from the UK) and I feel like I'm receiving great care from the Kinghorn

beware. Naproxen!
I am now taking 10mg Oxycodone having come off of 1800 mg per day of gabapentin which didn’t help my severe RLS. I have two questions. Severe itching is a common side effect of oxycodone. I take Loratadine 10 mg but it doesn’t help much. I have read that other antihistamines contain an ingredient that

ezetimibe
I have been on 10 mg daily of ezetimibe for 3 months and my overall cholesterol level remains the same at 6.2! Has anyone else found this drug ineffective?

I was diagnosed several years ago with Hashimotos. Like many, it took a very long time to get my thyroxine levels ok for me and I needed to resort to T3 as well as T4 in order to feel and be well. I help myself by being dairy, gluten and alcohol free and eating a nutrient dense diet. I exercise most

Advice on labs, high RT3, high SBHG, low T
This is my first real post on this forum. I'd appreciate if experienced members could take a look at my labs and history and let me know what they think. I'm a 46-year-old male from Canada but living in France for the past 10 years. I've had deteriorating health issues for close to 5 years (likely longer

Bruising on knees
Just noticed quite bad bruising on my knees, dont remember kneeling or banging them. Could this be a symptom of low t4 maybe. Or am i being paranoid.

Eyebrows have started growing again : )
haven't posted in ages because of health issues but do read posts. Seeing private endo at the moment and taking it very slowly with him and so far so good & gradually increasing levo. GP did a raft of tests recently and it showed low ferritin and low folate. She didn't consider worth doing anything

Thyroid Nodules and Low Ferritin Connection
Has anyone successfully eliminated thyroid nodules by elevating ferritin levels? I believe there is a significant connection between the two (found some studies also). I do not have any health issues (except low ferritin and thyroid nodules) but I am curious about how many of you have observed this relationship

Iron Ferrous Sulfate & Vitamin C
I just had an appointment with my neurologist. My ferritin is good but my Absolute Lymphocytes was 1.3 (a bit low) and my Absolute Monocytes was .33 so he is recommending Iron Ferrous Sulfate (325 mg) and Vitamin C (500 mg) three times a day. Anyone else taking these. I also take Magnesium Glycinate

EVIDENCE NEEDED PLEASE! In the past year, have you been told your T3 will be removed, or you can't start T3 due to national/local policies?
I co-lead ITT Improve Thyroid Treatment group (currently on Facebook, but hopefully a website soon) We work on certain pieces of work with Thyroid UK and The Thyroid Trust. In August 2023 NHSE issued 2 pieces of guidance related to T3 prescribing - They contradicted each other, but one said all patients

Novothyral
Hi all, I am currently in Spain where liothyronine is not offered at all. I have now had my third set of bloods since being on levothyroxine and my T3 has not increased from the very lowest normal lab result. I was wondering if anyone within Europe has got hold of it, it appears to only be available

Thyroid meds affecting sex hormones
Hi, I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid earlier this year. I am currently taking 25mg T4 (50mg caused significant bloating) and 30mg T3 as split doses. I'm on a high dose of adrenal support as my Cortisol & DHEA were shown to be very low in a Dutch test earlier this year. Since starting T3
