Partial liver transplant
Has anyone had a discussion with their consultant about partial liver transplant from a living donor? My husband has end stage liver disease and although we have read lots of information on liver transplants I can't see anything specifically about living donors. Any advice would be appreciated.

Any suggestions for coping with uncertainty during diagnosis?
I wanted to say thank you to everyone who replied to my last post. It was really helpful for my appointment yesterday. I spoke to a nice locum doctor a few weeks ago who arranged for a plain chest xray and blood tests. I couldn’t get a GP appointment soon enough after the ‘normal’ x ray report and ‘slightly

Iron has helped!
Hi all, I took the advice of my doc and started an iron regimen about 6 months ago. I was skeptical as I had already been on it for 3/4 weeks and had not gotten relief. That said, I had heard that it can take several months to take effect. I have found that taking it first thing in the morning with Vitamin

Xgeva and Bone Mets
Fighting PC since December of 2003. Under Dr. Myers was in long term remission until 2015 when PSA started doubling. With more ADT went to undetectable. New MO suspicious since I am Gleason 9 (5+4). Said that with high Gleason sometimes PSA did not show mets. Bone scan in December last year. Mets

AKM Shamsuddin, MD, Ph.D. (Univ. of MD Medical School) invests decades in cancer research and gets results
In 2015, three years after I was dx with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer (two pelvic bone mets, PSA 19, G8), I discovered Dr. Shamsuddin's book "IP6 and Inositol" in my search for anticancer natural supplements. IP6 is a molecule found in every cell of our body. It occurs naturally in many sources

PPI's and Osteoporosis
Here I go again! To respond to some of your comments on this statement, I think it's better to create a new post, then all can see and the thread doesn't get lost. It is true that absolute definitive research is lacking but there is evidence that use of PPI's for more than seven years is associated

Thyroid function tests in patients at the emergency department compared to a prior healthy setting
If T3 (whether total or free) is almost never measured, whether in a health examination, in emergency care or even in those with thyroid disease, you can't make this type of observation. Yet again, as TSH remained stable despite reduced T3, the status of TSH is undermined. [i]
