Painful Thyroiditis - treatment options?
For 19 months since diagnosis I've suffered with ongoing flares of painful thyroiditis including neck pain, struggling and painful swallowing, chest pain flu like symptoms & throat mucus etc. My Endo has arranged a barium swallow and I've got this Thursday - within a week which is excellent on the NHS

T3 availability on NHS in Sheffield update
I've seen my Endo at Hallamshire Hospital today who informed me that in addition to towns in South Yorkshire the NHS is now "red lighting" Sheffield so no one will be able to get T3 at all on the NHS in this region. He also commented how many of his patients are struggling sourcing T3. I was dreading

Stretta procedure
I am new to this forum and was diagnosed with hiatus hernia, gastritis and acid reflux following a gastroscopy. I've also had manonetry and PH tests and barium swallow. Tomorrow I have a Stretta procedure and would be grateful if anyone can tell me about what happens afterwards. I will be on a liquid

Is this alchalasia??
Hi my name is Denise. On April 25 of this year I started developing issues with swallowing and in a matter of days I couldn't swallow that well. Solid food would get stuck and liquids come back up. I saw a gastroenterologist on May 10 and had an Endoscopy and a modified barium swallow done and both came

How do we get any diagnosis
We lived in Western Australia with our 3 children, when we asked for my son to be tested for autism/ aspergers after nearly 12 months we managed to get a appointment with a paediatrician who said he's not autistic as he doesn't tick all the boxes, sent to see physiologist, yet we still had no real label. Now

acid reflux
Hi there, I had an oesophagectomy 3 years ago. I take Lanzoprazole 30mg twice daily. I am having the most vile acid reflux, it wakes me up and then I am unwell for 2 - 3 days afterwards. I have had a barium swallow, and a chest x-ray, nothing was found on these. Has anyone any tips for stopping the acid

Swallowing problems
I'm new here, and have really enjoyed reading everyone's posts. I've never spoken to anyone with scleroderma, and it's really reassuring to know that there are other people out there going through a similar experience to me. I was diagnosed with scleroderma about 3 years ago now, and so far have mostly

Hi I'm new here
Hi, I'm hoping to get some answers. I'm worried I may have ovarian cancer but I also have anxiety. But I've been having bloating and gas feeling in my stomach with pressure in my pelvic area. Also heartburn and what I thought was acid reflux but when I recently had a barium swallow done, they didn't

Nervous stomach
I'm starting to realize I have a nervous stomach. The crazy butterflies/ sinking feeling is annoying. It just happens out of nowhere. When I had the barium swallow done today, the specialist said everything looked fine but I will get my results back tomorrow. He did mention that if I had acid reflux,

Barium swallow
Good Evening Everyone. Has anyone ever had a barium swallow done? I'm having one done in the morning. A little nervous but ready to feel myself again. I drove to my psychologist appointment alone today and I was not scared or anything. I didn't even feel fear or think about fear when I left home nor

Partially collapsed bowel.
My son went for his review with the IBD nurse after having a barium follow through. She told him that he had a partially collapsed bowel and that she didn't know what that meant and so she would have to speak to a consultant. We are still waiting for her to come back to us. He has diarrhoea anything

Repeat Aspiration Pneumonia
Although I realize every case is different my question is if the timing of the second bout is affected by the severity of the first? I have had PSP for three years, and aspiration problems for about half that. I thickened drinks ad puree my food. I just left a University hospital after being in Critical
