Total hysterectomy with oopherectomy recovery advice needed please!
Hi all, it’s been about 3 years since I wrote into this group. Back then I was considering having a hysterectomy to help relive the symptoms of severe endo. I still couldn’t decide so I decided to wait and see how I felt in a few years. Well, life had other plans. I got stage 3 ovarian cancer at 40

Quadratus Lumborem Pain
I am a 68 yr old male who has had lumbar pain for 20+ years now and before my last surgery (I've had 2) my MRI showed my lowest 5 discs are bad. Anyway, last fall I somehow hurt my quadratus lumborem muscle on my right side and the pain has been so debillitating it has rendered me unable to walk on

Persistant AF and non-connected surgical procedures.
I had paroxysmal AF for a number of years become more frequent and more symptomatic over time. On 28 November last year I had Cryo-ablation and had meds changed from Sotolol (which clearly wasn't working) to Amiodarone. unfortunately the ablation does not appear to have been effective as after one

Robotic wedge lung resection
During my pet scan a lung shadow was reported. Biopsy failed to get tissue but Drs. do not think it is from the stage 2/3 prostate cancer. They recommend a wedge resection via a daVinci mechanism to remove it. I'd like to hear from someone who has had that surgery but since it may be tangential to this

Naproxen before Laparoscopy
Hi, I have my laparoscopy booked in for Tuesday (9th) I had my pre-op back in October. When I had this I wasn't taking naproxen, but have been since December. I've not been told to stop any of my medication beforehand but am getting anxious as I've read you shouldn't be taking naproxen before. Has anyone

How did you feel after excision?
Hi everyone ❤️ I had excision surgery about 6 months ago for fairly severe and widespread endometriosis. The surgeon was happy with how it went and felt confident he’d removed the endo. Before the op I suffered with pretty much daily pain (pelvic, lower back and tops of legs mainly). I haven’t really

Struggling after surgery
Hi guys, hope you are all managing as well as you can be. I had surgery last week, and man, it is kicking my butt. The surgeon repaired a massive hernia (12cm - the biggest he’d ever seen!) and did a partial fundoplication as well. I woke up delirious and disoriented, and they kept me in hospital 3 days

Private Consult
Hi all, At my wits end waiting for the NHS. Much like everyone else I suspect. I’ve subject access requested all my records and copies of recent ultrasound and MRI scans and have now booked a private consult with a BGSE specialist (whilst waiting for my NHS BSGE referral MDT meeting to take place)

Blood test timing
Hi all you clever folks out there, I’ve upped my medication of liquid thyroxine in the last few months from 50 to 75mcg. I did it without GP’s consent but I was feeling so hypo and tired and although my last blood test results were within range (TSH 2.35), I knew an increase would help. I was going to
