Stopping Prednisone
I had my kidney transplant 2-1/2 years ago and my lab tests are consistently good. I'm taking everolimus, mycophenolic acid and prednisone. The prednisone is causing weight gain, diabetes and, possibly, hair loss. I tapered down to 5 mg of prednisone over two years ago. I'm now wondering whether I can

I don't like PD
I have been doing PD dialysis for 5 days and I don't like it because of the cramping is this unusual? I feel like I want to go back to doing hemodialysis in the center. The only thing I do like is PD is not four hours period. Any advice?

Help with diagnosing gut issues that suddenly started 18 months ago - Related to sub-optimal B12?
Hi - this is a repost from IBS Network community. I saw posts on here that lower than optimal B12 could be the cause of my gut issues, which dont' seem to be IBD/IBS as calprotectin is low. Any advice - let me know! I'm new to this community and hoping to get some guidance on my gut issues. The heaviness

Had my 1st meeting about starting chemo today so was happy to get a step closer! The oncologist told me that I'm still stage 3a hgs but they had read in 1 letter that a lymph was flagged up next to my heart!! 1st I've heard this as I'd had womb biopsy cervix and guided ct on lymph plus ct scan 6weeks

Dialysis
I was in the hospital with accute
kidney
failure
. They dialized me 3 days into to see if my
kidney
function would improve. I left with a GFR 20 . So I want to know if I start filling up with toxins, can they just give dialysis every 3months so I don’t feel so sick all the time.

Adjust Crown, Mood Roller Coaster Begin
I meet with my nephrologist this week. Always nerve wrecking. The highs and lows of all of this are definitely a roller coaster and I know I still haven't fully gotten on. I'm waiting on the day when my nephrologist says I have to start dialysis. My fistula seems to be doing well, vibrating away. Why

Mischley's diet and raw dairy?
Hi everyone! Have any of you been following Dr Laurie Mischley's diet recommendations, which include as the number 1 thing to do, to eliminate dairy? Has this helped you? I am wondering if it's not the dairy itself but what the cows are fed, other practices and how the milk is processed in conventional

Prednisolone, can it be down to 3/4 of 5mg?
Hi! So I'm kidney transplant patient on my 11th year. I have some hormonal issues and my doctor said I should reduce my Prednisolone from 1 tab morning of 5mg to 3/4 of tab. I'm hesitating. What's your experience? (Normal scheme for me: 1 tab Prednisolone at morning, 1mg Prograf morning and evening,

Heart Failure Question
Hello I am looking for some perspective I think. My husband was not treated for his AF and high heart rate for four weeks until I managed to get him to ignore the GP and go to A& E, He was diagnosed with heart failure (35%) and is now on 8 different drugs. He had a follow up procedure booked (cardioversion

Pd home changing to cycler severe edema.
I am currently on pd home dialysis. I felt as if it had stopped working and my Dr recently confirmed this. I have severe lower calf edema. It’s red spotty, itchy and dry and very tight. I am starting the cycler on Monday. Has anyone else had manual exchanges stop giving them proper fluid removal?
