I get my blood tested every 3 weeks by my oncologist before treatment. (had kidney cancer which was removed, including kidney, but it came back in my pelvis). Thankfully everything remains constant. The Creatinine has remained at 1.6 (not bad for one kidney) for months. Sometimes an odd drop to 1.5

My Life With.. Fibrillary/Immunotactoid Glomerulonephritis Support Group
We have set up a support network for patients that are diagnosed with the rare kidney diseases, Fibrillary and Immunotactoid Glomerulonephritis. These conditions are very rare. Present in less than 1% of all kidney biopsies performed. We have a support page set up on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

Bactrim
I'ts been 2 years since my kidney transplant and along with my anti rejection meds I have been taking bactrim for the last 2 years and i have had no infections yet my doctor has not advised me to stop taking this med and i have heard that taking it unnecessarily long term can actually cause problems.

How to raise GFR
Does anyone have any tips to raise GFR? I’m 55 and have been stage 3b for some years however I was extremely alarmed to get test results last week showing that I’d gone from GFR of 32 to 27! Quick call to doc and my kidney function was rechecked and thankfully it is now back to 31. I am worried about

This is new to me! Although it seems to have been around a while. I've just read about it in a local magazine. It's to late for me, I had RP. Suggest anybody having radiotherapy to prostate or prostate bed checks that it is being used. "SpaceOAR Hydrogel is an absorbable hydrogel that temporarily creates

Has anyone had parathyroid surgery post kidney transplant?
I have hypercalcemia resulting from hyperparathyroidism and was wondering if anyone has had parathyroid surgery. I have been considering surgery but would first love to know others experiences.

Kidney stones renal colic and trying to lose weight. Any tips or advice
Suffering from kidney renal colic this week and now have scans and blood tests booked. Gained half pound due to drinking loads of water over the weekend. Diet hasn’t been a focus as I’ve struggled with pain. I’m sure all the fluid is the half pound weight increase this week in week 3. Anyone managed

Care Oncology Protocol and MCP
Is there anyone out there that is on the Care Oncology protocol and is also taking Modified Citrus Pectin? While on the protocol every time I start taking the Mebendazole my liver numbers on the CMP test go out of spec. The CO doctor is suspicious that it is caused by the grapefruit in the MCP, however

CT Scan of Abdomen cause for concern
I had a CT Scan of abdomen and pelvis done on 11-1-19 after being sent to the hospital twice and Urgent Care 3 times for Pyelonephritis. I never looked at the results of the CT scan as on last visit with that primary care doctor for this only told to follow up for CT scan in 3 month and would discuss

Appointment at St Thomas - how?
I’ve had an usually bad relationship with both my rheumatologist and GP, both performing regular checks and hiding my results from me and refusing to send me to specialists. Both ignoring my chronic chest problems, (pleurisy, serious chest infections and pneumonia more than once each year) and kidney

Kissing ovaries and obstructed ureter
I'm new to this forum. I was recently diagnosed with endometriosis this January after years of horrendous periods, which I assumed were normal! I'm 28 years old, no children, and no desire to have children. I'm in a same sex relationship as well. I have 'kissing ovaries' which have massive cysts on them

Kidney Ultrasounds and other tests....Lessons to learn from
Folks, I was diagnosed with CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE (!) by my PCP just over three years ago with a creatinine-based eGFR of 55. I'm 61 years old. Of course, I flipped out...and I mean REALLY flipped out. Can't even begin to estimate how many DAYS (not hours) I've spent researching the internet about
