Could be CRP. C-reactive protein is an annular, pentameric protein found in blood plasma, whose circulating concentrations rise in response to inflammation. It is an acute-phase protein of hepatic origin that increases following interleukin-6 secretion by macrophages and T cells. Wikipedia.

If it is high, your RD is flaring, which would explain why you feeling dreadful.

well the most recent test shows it at 10 range should be less than 5 and the test before showed 7 but i saw they asked to repeat the test because its marked as abnormal

I think my CRP is currently 5 but when first diagnosed, ESR rose to 86. Don't know what it is now.

The other basic test is ESR or sedimentation rate. That with the CRP gives the doctors and idea of whether the treatment is doing anything for you.

What you need to keep track of is the trend. So maybe they were above normal on Monday, but was that higher or lower than the last time you were tested? Some people have naturally high or low levels.

Not all places do both, as some doctors are happy just to test CRP as there’s only a small difference between them.

But really don’t worry. A CRP of 10 is barely above normal. You could be very sensitive to inflammatory changes, so this is making you feel awful. However, it’s not a dangerous level. I think when I was first diagnosed mine was 140.
