New here: CKD Stage 2
Hi, I am 32 and just got some blood tests back from my gp and I am really concerned by the results: - high serum creatinine 110 umol/l (gfr at 63) - acr 0.5 g/mol I am really worried about the consequences for my health in general and how it is going to progress. Does it mean I am going to be on dialysis

Phantom smell
Hello all, My sense of smell is present, but for the last 6 weeks I have been smelling a foul scent that is not really there. It is almost like a pungent soap. Originally I thought it was coming from the clothes that were washed and may have had too much soap or something, but after this long it is

Nice to meet you all. Any tips or tricks to deal with this lovely, lovely butterfly disease that I need to know?
Hi. Can't believe it took me this long to find this site. I was diagnosed back in 2016 at 25 with severe Lupus SLE, and I'm studying here in the UK, hoping to stay permanently because I love it here so. The lupus certainly makes life more interesting, I've noticed. Nice to meet everyone. Anyone know

What To Eat When Eating Out?
My husband's labs on 11/25/2020 were Creatinine 1.64 and GFR 40. He was told to start eating low sodium and low potassium, which he did. On 02/25/2021 his Creatinine was 1.21 and his GFR was 57. The Nephrologist gave me credit as the cook. I realize that labs are just a picture of a given day, but

Ovary stuck to bowel!
I’ve seen a few people on here say their ovary is still stuck to the bowel, and wanted to know what did their consultants say to them? Why wasn’t it removed? What are the potential consequences of leaving it? Long story short! For many years prior to my diagnosis I would be awoken during the night with

Bubbles or foam in urine.
Hi, I hope everyone is doing well. I had my kidney transplant about 5 months ago. My urine has always foam or bubbles (I'm not sure) in there. There is also no protein in my urine. My doctor's told me the only way there will be foam in my urine is when there is protein in it. They too find it unusually

After 2nd Vaccine Antibodies
As a kidney transplant In the USA, whose responsibility is it to test me to find out if my body has made antibodies after the second covid vaccine? Also, how long do I have to wait to be tested for antibodies?

Potassium Citrate -Amazingii
I had a procedure in January for removal of a kidney stone and was advised by my Surgeon to take Potassium Citrate . This was found to help prevent recurring stones forming . Interestingly , this medication , which has a major common side effect of stomach issues and diarrhoea has had a reverse effect

painful ankle this morning
Woke up to a slightly swollen tender to touch ankle. I didnt injure it although I did bruise the opposite side a month ago. Just wondering if its calcium deposit or could steroids do this? I'm currently tapering to 5.5 mg prednisone. im concerned too if it couldbe an infection.

coping with anxiety and depression due to a child needing a kidney transplant
Anyone have a child awaiting kidney transplant? How do you deal or cope with all the emotions, not to mention anxiety and depression? Our 12 year old needs a kidney and my husband is not a match. I am a blood type match however, I have scar tissue on my kidneys from many many infections and I am over

One step forward, two steps back.
I am so disheartened! My dad had a really bad infection the past two weeks. He's just gotten over it really turned a corner had a trachy fitted and we've been told he has ANOTHER infection! 😭 I am so drained how long will this continue, he is now on day 30 on the vent, continuous infections, really

First time post. Red blood cells in urine.
Hello :) I’m just wondering if it’s normal for women with endometriosis to have red blood cells in your urine. I have all the classic symptoms of endometriosis and I’m waiting for a laparoscopy from June 2020 still pending but things are getting worser each month. My doctor informed me this week I had

Hello! My name is Holly, and I’m 4 months post transplant. I’m feeling more energetic and stronger, but my hair is coming out fast. I just ordered a wig, but I’m not sure I’ll ever wear it. I also have kidney failure and do dialysis . They’re trying to get me to move my catheter from my chest to my stomach

I have now been diagnosed with a heart condition called Diastolic Dysfunction . I have had the diagnosis after an Echocardiagram as I have swollen feet and ankles as well as being very out of breath on the slightest exertion. I am still in a lot of muscular pain but have not been actually diagnosed
