I had my kidney transplant about 5 months ago. My urine has always foam or bubbles (I'm not sure) in there. There is also no protein in my urine. My doctor's told me the only way there will be foam in my urine is when there is protein in it. They too find it unusually but they will keep monitoring it. I just want to know if anyone has experienced the same, foam in urine but no protein.
Thanks

Hi! In my opinion, there are any number of reasons for bubbles and foam in urine that range from physical matters (strong stream, urgency, etc.) to health issues (autoimmune conditions, blood diseases, kidney issues involving protein, dehydration, etc.). I, personally, have noticed that even the area you live in seems to affect appearance - for example hard water appears to create more bubbles than heavily filtered city water in my highly unscientific experience. And I, on occasion, even suspect cleaning products left in commodes may have an impact too. If you're concerned, though, I would recommend a discussion with your doctor. You're likely taking a variety of medications and perhaps some may influence urine outcomes as well. May you live long and well with your transplant!
Hi, darlenia..thanks for your reply.Yes maybe it can be one of those things. It's just that I'm worried everytime I see foam in my urine, I get all these negative thoughts about my kidney not lasting long.
I will have a good talk to my doctor again about this. May you also have a healthy, happy and long life.
