No get out of jail free card!
My neurologist, told me during one visit early on to " remember that just because a person has a chronic disease, does not give them a get out of jail free card for other illness". That quote has come back to haunt me several times since, the heart attack, kidney stones, and most recently bad news

Stage 2 likely?
hi, I’ve been undergoing blood test for 6 months. my creatinine levels have been high and the GP said my kidneys weren’t function as they should be for my age. I’m 42 male. Had ultra sound of kidneys and no issues found. my GFR is 61. From what I can see online it should be in 99’s on average

B12 toxicity and kidneys
Hello everyone. I've been facing a particular problem lately. I was performing b12 eod syringes. However, I had what appears to be renal colic. Urinalysis showed traces of blood and very high protein. My doctor is convinced that it is the fault of the b12 and the high levels that caused toxicity. I have

October 15th - 23 years later
Today is a special day for me...23 years ago today I had my kidney transplant! It was all because my donor, Ryan, said "yes" to organ donation. He was 16 years old and was killed in a horrible car accident. As a result, - I saw both of my daughters marry and I now have 2 buddies, my grandsons.

creatinine increase 3 months after Lynparza
Psa went from 20 to 2-- creatinine went from 1.8 to 2.2 no obstruction or infection found I'm hoping this due to the know factitious increase in creatinine on lab testing without renal harm- Opinions welcome please. What lab test is available to confirm? Thank you

Endo and duplex kidney?
Hi, My gyne has agreed to do a hysterectomy but wanted me to have a scan so he could see what was occurring since my last lap a year ago. He said along with the endo, I have hydrosalpinx and that my womb is blobby and swollen. The pictures he showed me just looked weird and lumpy. During my scan

Silodosin, Frequent Urination and PCa
I'm going to talk to a urologist about adding Silodosin to the myriad of drugs and supplements I take. My main issue is having to get up 4-5 times a night to pee. The primary use of this drug (like flomax) is for enlarged prostrate. My prostrate is not enlarged but, from what I read, this drug is

Liver Transplant consent letter & liver types
hi, my partner has just been accepted onto the transplant list with a UKELD of 56 and blood group A (this is relevant as have been told the wait for this group is shorter). He has just had the consent form and agonised for ages over which boxes to tick in terms of what livers to accept. It seems so ungrateful

MPR flare-up or Aclasta reaction?
Went off prednisone early in July 2022. Was fine till 10 days ago. Started with pain in my legs and with 5 days spread through my whole body - same as I had when I was diagnosed with PMR in March 2020. Because of a low bone density scan the specialist physician recommended Aclasta infusion that was done
