Hi All.. Today I had my first laparoscopy, they done adhesiolysis of endometriosis, ablation of endometrial tissue and hysteroscopy. I am 32 years old without children, I have read the ablation of endometrial tissue is not recommended if you would like children in the future as it can effect fertility and cause pregnancy to end in miscarriage. As you can imagine I am devastated. Has anyone had an experience with this or have any other information please? I would really appreciate any information even if it is not good news.
Ablation of endometrial tissue: Hi All... - Endometriosis UK
Ablation of endometrial tissue
Hi, I'm sorry you've been left so worried. I assume what you've got listed here is from your discharge notes? If so, please ring the medical secretary for your surgeon and ask them to clarify what was done. I believe Adhesiolysis is specifically on adhesions, so perhaps the endometrial ablation is referring only to the endometrial tissue in your pelvis (where it shouldn't be, i.e. endometriosis) rather than in your uterus (where it should be), i.e you had removal of adhesions, removal of endometriosis and a hysteroscopy. Please try not to worry too much and just speak to someone as soon as possible. If you've never had to call the medical secretary before so don't have their number, you should be able to get through by just ringing the gynaecology dept. Best wishes to you for a good recovery and I hope you get positive answers
