Latest info from NRAS website
Ikm posting this again because it’s clear and concise. It’s from the NRAS uk Last Updated: 20th March - Are people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) considered to be in the 'vulnerable' category referred to in the latest Government advice? Yes, meaning you should be from this weekend self–isolating as instructed

Medication Is The Key to Achieving Remission
The most important factor in rheumatoid arthritis remission is early and aggressive treatment with medication that improves or alleviates symptoms and halts the progression of the disease, says Dr. Greer. Although RA drugs do have side effects, the repercussions of the disease are generally much worse

Scoliosis/Disc Herniation related to RA?
Hello everyone, I was diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis about 2 months ago, and even though Methotrexate has been working really well on all of my joints, about a month ago I started having upper back pain which I attributed to RA. Yesterday, I got X-RAY results and found out I have mild mid-back

Can’t stand straight due to arthritis in low back
Had laminectomy mid 2016 followed by infection and use of WoundVac machine for 16 weeks. During this period of relative inactivity my back has become very stiff and I am very stooped over when walking. Family practice doctor only prescribed strong pain meds. Is there anything else to alleviate the stiffness

Prednisolone taper and arthritis flare
Ow, ow, ow! Feeling stupidly pleased at reduction to 7.5 then bam! osteoarthritic hip worse than ever. Waking me up at night when I try to turn over, barely hobbling this morning. Paracetamol not hitting it. Feeling exhausted and most sorry for myself. I think I’ve read that Pred can mask arthritis?

One of our PMRGCAuk members has sent the following question: "My mother has GCA which unfortunately resulted in 50% sight loss across both eyes. She has been on Tocilizumab for about 8 months now, and her steroids have been gradually reduced to now nil. Initially, she was happy to be off the steroids
