hi,I have hip osteoarthritis in left and right hips and go the gym 2_3 times a week ,I've stopped using treadmill which puts unnecessary pressure on the joints,I use the cross trainer machine which dosent put the pressure on the joints and rowing machine which helps,I just wondered with anyone with the same condition as mine what exercises do you use to strengthen the hips?because believe me I will do anything to put off surgery (hip replacements)thank you

The Arthritis Action website has a series of exercises for different joints, including hips. You'll find them under 'resources'.

Hi nickshjujitsu , thanks for getting in touch.

As the previous comment mentions, the Arthritis Action contains a number of exercise resources to help improve your joint mobility. A number of these are specifically chosen to help strengthen hip mobility.

These exercises were designed with you in mind, to try conveniently without needing to leave the house. We also recommend keeping an activity diary, to understand what works best for you and which exercises help you the most.

Let us know how you get on!
