Hi all, Just wondering if anyone is taking Tofacitinib alongside Methotrexate injections and if it is a good biologic as I have been offered it and had not heard of it before just a bit scared of any bad side effects to expect as Enbrel was good but cannot take it anymore as too many infections occured with it. Thanks
TOFACITINIB: Hi all, Just wondering if anyone is taking... - NRAS
TOFACITINIB
I had Tofa last year - with continuing M/X injections . It seemed to work really well for joints and energy levels, but I had gastric symptoms, and my cholesterol went up rather sharply so I had to stop - that was before lockdown, so have just been on M/X since - which isn’t working as well as it once did. Difficult to get the ‘usual’ service from my usually excellent rheum dept at the moment - staff problems I suppose- and GPs are still invisible.
Hope it works well for you!
I have been taking Tofacitinib on its own for 18 months now and it has worked fantastically for me , life changing x
I’m taking tofacitinib and Mtx, for almost a year. I was in clinical remission for the first few months, the only side effect I notice was my skin being slightly more prone to oiliness and pimples, and maybe a tiny bit more water retention.
When the winter hit this year, I would still feel little aches and stiffness when the weather got really bad. After a year, I get more stiffness from weather fluctuations even in the summer but everything is still ‘almost’ in remission.
Out of interest was you taking Enbrel while on methotrexate?
