My son is 20 months old and was diagnosed with itp a few weeks before his first birthday. He's had ivig, whinrow(not sure if the spelling),
He's been on prednisilone since September, and just recently a rituxin infusion. He also had a bone marrow biopsy before starting the steroids. He's on a low dosage, only 2.5ml a day. We are trying to wean him off of them now. Problem is, his platelets usually stay between 10 and 12. The rituxin put

I am about to have
IVIG
to try to improve my balance problems in my legs. Has anybody else had this treatment? If so, did it help?

I have been on quite a combination of drugs, fighting last relapse, since November: rituximab, two 4-day pulses of dexamethasone 40mg 1st and 3rd week,
IVIG
, then azathioprine for 2 weeks and then 6-MP for 2 weeks.

Does Ibrutnib remove the need for IVIG?
Does anybody know if Ibrutnib threatment "cures" the need for
IVIG
or will the patient still have a compromised immunesystem?

From one extreme to the next! Does anyone feel like their body is letting them down :/
I then began treatment with
ivig
every 4-5 weeks of the rest of my pregnancy to keep my count up to stop complications and for delivery. I was assured that my count would return to normal (well my normal) once bubs was born. I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy with no major complication.

I developed itp during pregnancy with count >80,000. I also had protein in my urine which the docs say is not related. I think they are.
My body responds well to this but my doc is pushing for this
ivig
. Should I take it if the prednisone is working.

Help understanding results
H (23 - 33) Fibrinogen (der.) 3.2 g/L (1.8 - 3.6) Is this a concern for having
IVIG
, prednisone or lovenox? These were mentioned by my new consultant as possible treatments during IVF. And lastly, probably a silly questions but does each time I'm pregnant raise my antiphospholid antibodies?

Blood donations save our lives
[/i] Many of us are likely to require blood transfusions to boost our red blood cells, platelets and even our immunity via
IVIG
transfusions, with the latter requiring a thousand or more transfusions to provide us with one temporary immunity boost.

What is threatening bleeding?
I had
IVIG
which had a very short term effect it seems and I'm having a couple of new bruises (smallish really) and a bit of blood when I'm brushing my teeth. In addition, I have allergic eczematic rush so a couple of bleeding cracks on my skin because of dry eczema.

Late October - Clinical trial update - B + R and Idelalisib - CAL 101
Hey, Well three days in the Day Care centre last week - first for
IVIG
and then the fourth round of two day chemo infusions. Both went reasonably well, with the minor frustrations of "red tape & paperwork".

Pregnancy and chronic itp
Ivig
infusion works brings counts over 150,000 that's what will be needed to deliver but praying I can lessen my dose soon. It causes horrible side effects , you don't feel yourself. Before the pregnancy I maintained levels of 40- 60 thousand platelets with monthly doctor visits.

To those of you on NPlate, how often is a normal injection, how much and what is the goal set by your doctor as far as count?
Rituxan,
IVIG
, platelet transfusions and prednisone were of no real help. I keep reading everyones comments about their count being 20,000 to 50,000 but his Dr keeps giving injections and wants him about 300,000 because about every 10 days it drops to between 17,000 and 60,000.

Dr Sharman provides an update on an NIH CAR-T trial for relapsed/refractory DBLC
(The trial patients needed to remain on
IVIG
for life as the treatment kept zapping any new B-Lymphocytes). It's great to know that so many centres are working on extending this alternative approach to finding a cure for some tough leukaemias and lymphomas.

Blood draws, what are your tips for a relatively painless experience?
(This is also great prior to
IVIG
transfusions.) http://www.emla.co.uk/emla-cream-instructions.html Avoid lifting any heavy weights for a while after the blood draw, particularly if your platelets are low or clotting takes a while for you.

IVIG & Clinical Trial with B + R -- Idelalisib (GS-1101) OR CAL 101 Study (III)
I have seen higher dose rates quoted on the interweb, like in the case of patients with autoimmune disease,
IVIG
is administered at 1-2 grams
IVIG
per kg body weight. Has anyone else experience of
IVIG
in relation to CLL? Regards, Marty.
