Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg)

Hi fellow travelers, I have questions about IVIg. I never had IgG levels checked at diagnosis, in 2014. I’ve had frequent infections over the years, and then my CLL “bloomed” in late ‘22 and I started Acalabrutinib. I’ve been on it a year and a half.

I am to begin IVIG next week. I mentioned this to my Oncologist that Pulmonologist wants me to begin ivig, He says that's fine. Your Immunoglobulin IS low but I have some patients that are in the hospital it's so low. My question: is this the norm?

IVIG Treatment: He was given two bottles of IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulin) along with Dstron. His platelet count increased from 8,000 to 56,000 within a two days, and he was discharged. Platelet Count Fluctuations: • After a week, his platelet count dropped again to 18,000.

She responded very well to IVIG and steroids for 5 days. She left hospital feeling well enough to return to Uni and work. She has autoimmune encephalitis seronegative. In late August she deteriorated and returned to hospital in September for another round of IVIG and Methyl Pred.

I have had three IVIg infusions, once a month, & the rash started to appear the day before my third infusion & 2 weeks after the CT scan.

Finished my IvIg infusions this week. After my two infusions (been doing this for almost 3 years) I’m getting more and more fatigued as time goes by. It takes me up to 3-5 days to get over. It has done a wonderful job at keeping me well. I certainly don’t want to come across as ungrateful.

Prior to the IVIG they were just under 600k on 1000mg of Hydrea daily. The white cells and lymphocytes were just a little below normal. Neutrophils well into normal range. IVIG can cause counts to drop but not as much as mine did.

I am not sure what to think, but I do believe is because of the Ivig infusion and decadron that I had in March for first time ever, just one treatment ever and stopped. please help me if you have any information regarding this issue.

hello, I have been advised to do both intralipid and Ivig infusion for my next FET with immunotherapy. Our doctor is ok for us to do IVIG elsewhere to save money. I’m based in London and prices for IVIg are scary. I’ve read of people who travelled to do it abroad: where did you go?

I have had many infections over the last 4 months. I have been on Kesimpta for 2years. Anyone else have that problem? Any luck with immuno therapy? Thank you!

My ivf clinic proposes to use of steriods, intralipids and IVIG to help on that front. Thank you Anisha

Has anyone with ET/MPN ever received IVIG? I have ET and my platelets are in the mid to high 500k range on 1000mg HU daily. IVIG has a risk for blood clots but it appears to be one of the few things that might help with a severe neuropathy I’ve developed.

Hi, is there any of you who suffered from a number of implantation failures and finally achieved successful pregnancy by using intralipids / IVIG? Any good (or bad) experiences of using them?

My IVIG introduction was very late, not considering my close to 0 Immunity. The result was as well Double Pneumonia, unbelievable hurting caught for 6 month, which produced a Hernia. After being on a Roller-Coaster I have moe or less settled and try the Atmost to stay out of Trouble.

hi all Is this raised tnf my clinic haven't said it is they said I need ivig for my pgs embryo transfer. Looking at my results above are my TNF not elevated? If so what treatment or tests did you have to help you get your bfp? Thanks

I am on V and O treatment, they have given me 2 rounds of IVIG, and today decided to try a dose of Mesoprednisone(?) My hemoglobin is 6.7. It had been 7.0 after a transfusion Two days before. The Doctor team is baffled but still believe they are on the right track.

Near the end of those steroids I visited the lab for my 4 week IVIG. As usual I receive a CBC at the beginning then get my copy to review. To my surprise my labs were normal for the first time in 13 years!

I have had five failed transfers (x2 miscarriages, 3 BFNs) and feel like I have tried everything already in terms of protocols (medicated long, medicated short, natural, natural modified + steroids /IVIG / intralipids).

Also during that time I was given IVig (2) infusions and started V and O treatment. September 30th my hemoglobin seemed to improve (8.5) and the Doctor team thought I had turned the corner and I was sent home (finally and thankfully) on October 1st.

He still gives it to patients with low anc or a history of repeat infections/or on IVIG but I never have had an issue with either. He again mentioned it’s pretty hard on your kidneys and liver and having ckd you definitely want to protect what you have.
