Ongoing issues
Hi allI am 1 year out of treatment for stage 3C1 cervical cancer. I had radiotherapy, chemotherapy and brachytherapy. I have since had a colonoscopy, bowel biopsies, a SeHCAT scan and EPI test because of terrible bowel issues. I have seen a letter to my GP saying my SeHCAT and EPI test were clear but

Laxatives for constipation
What do you use? The gp has just changed me from laxido to fybogel mebeverine. I've taken half a sachet and the pain is horrendous. It is causing awful cramps. I'm not sure what to do as I can't carry on with the constipation. I tried upping the fibre and that did the same and aggrevated the symptoms

Bloating tips
Does anyone have any tried and tested methods to help with the bloating, please? I take mebeverine for IBS symptoms but, for me (I know this isn’t a one size fits all) it doesn’t do anything for the endo & adeno bloating. Pain is off the charts and very little being done but I hoped, hoped someone

Flate up
Have suffered from IBS-C for years,Yesterday I couldn’t stop using the loo and by evening was full of wind and the most dreadful pains. If I purchase Mebeverine from Boots, is this likely to help. Still feel like I’ve been sat on by an elephant this morning Thanks Di

Flare up lasting weeks
Hi everyone, I don't know how long the average flare lasts or whether it's different for everyone? But mine started after a stressful life event and has been dragging on for 4 weeks and counting. I'm pretty sure it's kicked off due to the stress. Visit to dr's last week and they do nothing but examine

endometriosis bowel symptoms
hi, anyone who experiences bowel symptoms a lot with their endometriosis (like me), do you get a lot of trapped wind, and if so, any suggestions on how to help it/reduce it at all? I seem to get it a lot, after almost every big meal, and I’ve tried wind settlers which sometimes help, and I’ve been taking

AD's and IBS
Hi everyone, I'm sure you've all heard about being or have been prescribed some anti-depressants for your IBS. I had a bad flare-up of symptoms about 8 months ago after I'd increased my initial 50mg dose of Sertraline to 100mg. I finished up with serotonin syndrome after taking the higher dose for

Mebeverine
I have IBS Mixed (I think).. I can go to the loo 6 times a day, but it is loose and feels incomplete, which i have read can actually be constipation. Other times i have the bad cramping and explosive D. Currently trying Alflorex and Optifibre to try and bulk the stool, with not much improvement yet

New to IBS diagnosis
Symptoms started November 2022. I was feeling extreme hunger, but when I was eating I didn't feel I wanted to finish anything. This also about the time my anxiety was high so I put it down to a lack of appetite. Just before Christmas the abdominal pain wasn't manageable with just hot water bottles, so

IBS, Inflammation, and everything else!
Hi everyone, apologies in advance I just need to vent! Trips to the GP just feel like I keep landing at dead ends. I've been on Mebeverine for about 5 weeks now. Things are a lot better than they were but I'm still not 100%. Calprotectin levels came back at 94 during my previous test so I was prescribed

Painful Wind.
I've experienced painful trapped wind before, which seems to have lingered for a few days, but this time (after a flare IBS-d, ) has been ongoing for about 6 days. Mebeverine helps up to a point, and occasionally Paracetamol. Just when I think it's gone, I find out it hasn't. My IBS is triggered

IBS Loose bowels
I have had IBS for many years but now I am finding I cannot control my bowels and have awful accidents. It is preventing me from socialising or going shopping as I am not aware of when it will happen. I take Mebeverine and Loperamide daily but it isn't helping much. Any advice would be appreciated

Can probiotics ease diarrhoea and daily loose stools?
I have tried so, so many things over the years to help my IBS. I am low fodmap, dairy free and am very careful with my food and drink intake, listen to gut directed hypnotherapy, exercise, I drink mint tea, have peppermint capsules, Imodium, mebeverine, alverine etc. But not much helps. The daily

Lost, Worried, Scared. (35yo M)
Hello, I'm a 35yo male, I've been experiencing stomach pain for around 6 months now. It started as a central pain just 'under' my belly flap (I'm overweight but have lost around 2st and losing more by the day) and it didn't affect my bowel movements at all, except an occasional bout of quickly resolved
