it might help to keep a diary of all that you eat and drink each day , I know it’s a fag but something doesn’t bode well in your intake. I keep off spice in rich foods, some acidic fruits, prune juice, only have almond milk from Tesco, meat and fish can cause me a problem so I only take in a small amount. It a pain but something is triggering your problem, I drink only water and lots of it. No coffee or tea. Good Luck.
Hi there. Sorry to hear you’re having a flare up. I recently had a terrible one and took Mebeverine to settle it. It took a couple of weeks though to settle completely but if you read the instructions you’ll see this is normal. I get both the tablets and Fybogel Mybeverine from my GP but both are available from the chemist. The latter helps if you have IBS-C. Hope you feel better soon!
I'm trying to get my head around the fact that you have IBS-C, but you are saying that you had diarrhoea yesterday, is that right? If you are generally predisposed to IBS-C, Mebeverine will slow things down. The pain you are experiencing may be down to trapped wind, which Rennie Deflatine will help with. If you have diarrhoea, you could have a day or two of white jasmine rice plus protein which will give your bowels a rest since they will be digested in the small intestine. This should help things to settle.
It wasn’t diarrhoea just a constant need to produce a few more hard knobs all day long accompanied by a lot of pain. I take Movicol for the constipation but as I also take three diuretics for my heart, it’s facing a losing battle
I was prescribed Mebeverine in 2013 and I took it thinking they know best. It didn't help me at all and after giving it a good shot, I took myself off it and started dealing with the IBS myself. It made me feel worse and did nothing for the cramps. I don't take an medication at all now, apart from a good Probiotic and a few supplements.
Hello Hylda2, I would just get advice from the pharmacist at Boots. They're really good and do listen and query your issues. It was Boits who told me I had Diverticulitis and am issue with my inner ear. Always spot on. All the best 👍
