What do you use? The gp has just changed me from laxido to fybogel mebeverine. I've taken half a sachet and the pain is horrendous. It is causing awful cramps. I'm not sure what to do as I can't carry on with the constipation. I tried upping the fibre and that did the same and aggrevated the symptoms 🥹

Hiya,
Sorry you're in pain.
Only thing that started to me was beetroot. I also have diverticulitis so I'm very limited on what I can eat.
I hated beetroot to begin with, I'm use to it now.
Walking also helps which I know from experience is not great whilst in pain but ot helps.
Good luck.
Hi, one nurse recommended me Movicol sachets. I am using it for few years now when I need. It is very helpful. You need take plenty of water with it. It is soften your stool and you have no pain 💛
I usually use dulcolax but I only use it when it's extremely bad, I usually try the vegetables and other suggestions others listed but the beetroot is a new one for me
Thank you for your replies lovely ladies. Maybe I need to go back to the Laxido (generic of Movicol). I'm veggie so I eat lots of vegetables. Unfortunately, I can't tolerate coffee anymore. With the Dulcoease, does it work overnight, and is it gentle? I just don't want to take something that causes cramps 😫 I will definitely look at Beetroot too and I have been walking too ❤️
Would avoid Fybogel products. Laxido works really well for me but have found need to take more as my symptoms have increased.
Diet and walking definitely great ways to help xx
