Constipation
I'm having a bad flare up . I was prescribed mebeverine, one of the side effects of that is constipation. I have IBS D , now I'm just constipated . I'd rather go than not go . It makes no sense that the medication has this side effect. I've stopped taking it as of today. Now I have to cancel my shift

Mebeverine stopped working?
Hi everyone, Just wanted to pick your brains. I know I've not been online for a while but things haven't been too bad. Now I'm not sure what's causing symptoms to flare again whether it's the change in weather, the fact I'm snacking a lot due to my job and caring for mum or what. Basically I but put

pain under ribs
I have been now been told my discomfort is ibs constipation and not hiatus hernia or acid reflux. Symptoms started 8 years ago and steadily deteriorated so I’m now finding it difficult to eat/drink. Domperidone did help (half tab not every day) but GE said not to take it as advice re impact on heart

Pain won't stop
Hi all, it's been assumed that I'm struggling with IBS for around 6 weeks. I've tried buscopan forte with no ease. Last Friday I started Mebeverine hydrochloride 3 times a day, it's not helping! For 6 weeks I have pretty much been stuck in the fetal position with servere cramping pain that I'm comparing

still not diagnosed but concerned about IBS
Sorry for lengthy post I am new here. I started an antibiotics course (one week) Doxycycline on 24 April 2023 for throat infection and fever,as soon I finish it, I started having diarrhoea. That time I was in very stress and depression for another reason. It's been almost over 9 months now. Diarrhea

Mebeverine
Hi….a nurse practitioner prescribed Mebeverine when I had a flare up of IBS a week or so ago. I take 3 a day of 135g and the pains have stopped. Do I now stop taking the tablets or are they like antibiotics where you finish the pack til they’re all gone? She prescribed 84… Thank you

Mebeverine
I have been given mebeverine by the doctor. He said to take it 3 times a day before meals ... but breakfast and lunch are small ( I tend to graze in between !) so I take it before my evening meal. I haven't had a flare up so far whilst taking it .. but that's just been a week .. I usually have flare

Has anyone found Mebeverine/Buscopan helpful?
Following a Laparoscopy, it is highly likely that I have Adenomyosis. One of the hardest symptoms is the uncomfortable bowel issues. I get bloating and constipation. I am wondering if it is worth trying Mebeverine or Buscopan. I've tried dietary and peppermint oil but neither really helped.Thank you

IBS - anyone with similar experience?
Hello, I’ve suffered with my symptoms for about 15 years, but seem to have noticed them more in the last 3-4 years. I went to the GP recently. He did blood test and stool tests and they didn’t seem to indicate anything too worrying and he said it was probably IBS. He recommended trying fodmap diet

Mebeverine
Hi all, just wondering about Mebeverine as my GP has prescribed this in the past, and I have it on repeat prescription. I do not take this regularly, as I seem to find that I can't take it before my evening meal as I have to take other meds then.Just wondering if anyone has taken the 2x a day slow release

Diagnosed 3 months ago
ear admin thank you for letting me join this IBS site as it may help my husband to understand it, and me too. So about 3 months my husband was diagnosed by a doctor over the phone, and also to see a doctor at the surgery as he had been having tummy troubles. My husband has been prescribed Mebeverine

Feel full?
I've been on Mebeverine forc for about a year now and I think it's marvellous! But I'd like to know if it makes you feel fuller quickly after eating?

Ongoing issues
Hi allI am 1 year out of treatment for stage 3C1 cervical cancer. I had radiotherapy, chemotherapy and brachytherapy. I have since had a colonoscopy, bowel biopsies, a SeHCAT scan and EPI test because of terrible bowel issues. I have seen a letter to my GP saying my SeHCAT and EPI test were clear but

Laxatives for constipation
What do you use? The gp has just changed me from laxido to fybogel mebeverine. I've taken half a sachet and the pain is horrendous. It is causing awful cramps. I'm not sure what to do as I can't carry on with the constipation. I tried upping the fibre and that did the same and aggrevated the symptoms

Bloating tips
Does anyone have any tried and tested methods to help with the bloating, please? I take mebeverine for IBS symptoms but, for me (I know this isn’t a one size fits all) it doesn’t do anything for the endo & adeno bloating. Pain is off the charts and very little being done but I hoped, hoped someone
