Quality of Life of Transplant vs PD
I am a 65 year old married male with two adult children and two grand children. I have been on PD for about nine months and found it NOT to be a significant burden. I am contemplating going on the Kidney Transplant waiting list. I am interested in input on Life Style Positives and Negatives of transplant

Could this be PMR or Steroid side effect ?
I have been on Pred for 4 years and am reducing from 7 to 6.75 mg again. I had a very strenuous and stressful day on Saturday, going to a funeral and driving home took nearly 2 hours. The longest journey I have done for 3 years is about 15/20 minutes. When I got home I was so tired I needed a rest

Para Aortic LN Surgery Update & Question
Thought it was time I should give update on my surgery since I had great support and advice from everyone on this site when I posted in May 2018 when I had first recurrence in para aortic lymph node. Turns out surgery was not possible laparoscopically - the tumour was in a pretty dangerous spot - right

Seeking liver transplant recipients or compensated liver patients in the Houston area to help with a research study
Most of you know that we are sponsoring a clinical trial to study screening for liver disease using Fibroscan before symptoms develop. The pilot study is planned to start in Houston October 1st. I'm looking for transplant patients or compensated cirrhosis patients who would like to help with the Houston

Recent SLL/CLL Patient Question
Hello. I found out I have SLL/CLL earlier this year at 31. I had Rituxan treatment shortly after since I have neutropenia I can't seem to shake. I will save this for another post. My lymph nodes are visible but not huge yet. Since I have 11q I have read it can become a bulky disease. Not sure if they

National organ donation week
Well it's national organ donation week and I have had the opportunity to be a recipient of a single lung transplant in November 2016. I'm doing great!! And all because a very kind family agreed for their loved one to donate their organs. I'm eternally grateful for the second chance at life with my daughter

QE Hospital Birmingham - Liver Transplant update.
I was one of the 5000+ people to be fortunate enough to have received a liver transplant thanks to a most wonderful, totally unselfish donor. And not forgetting a bunch of pretty amazing staff at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. Having nothing better to do, I was trolling "YouTube" just now

Husband turned down for ESA again
Advice needed Husband has been turned down again for ESA while recovering from liver transplant which he had in May They say he doesn't have enough national insurance contributions due to him being out of work for 3 years prior to his transplant. Any advice of what we do next?

A bacon sandwich ( was not allowed salt before my o), a bottle of champagne ( not allowed to drink) and a pair of running shoes!!! Did my first run on Wednesday and today I know it!! Going to do my second later

Lost a super best friend
Hi folks, It is very comforting to read your stories of how to cope with liver disease. My friend retired from teaching less than a year ago and discovered she has a genetic liver disease ( as do four of her sisters - one had received a transplant one year ago). I can't believe how fast she went. Her
