Time and again I see recommendations that one should speak to an MPN specialist or someone else on one's care team - and I have a quiet chuckle and just carry on with my life. Iron levels normal
If my iron levels are within range is there any chance taking an iron supplement would be beneficial? I know too much is dangerous. Sorry if answer is obvious, but I'm desperate.

Getting there, but slowly
More blood tests back now but still don't have all the figures. Serum immunoglobulins all normal Coeliac screen - negative Ferritin 197 (range 13-150) Transferrin saturation 38% (15-45) He's not happy about this even though it's "normal" Homocysteine - normal IFA - still negative Gastric parietal antibodies

Test result low TSH high T4
Good morning, Can anyone please help with the results of my blood test? I have both Hashimoto and Grave and have been on Lexo for the past few years, currently 125mg. TSH came back very low at 0.07 (was 1.3 a year ago) and T4 high at 25 (15 a year ago). Unfortunately no T3 despite our request. Folate

Gabapentin and Oral Iron
When taking iron supplements on alternate days (iron bisglycinate 25mg) and using gabapentin nightly, how far apart should the iron and gabapentin doses be on the days that I take the iron?

New test results
Hi, Here are the Blue Horizon test results for my friend where I think she's showing hypothyroid because of the low T4. Do you agree? Is Total T4 also a bit low in range, do you think?Next step will probably be to get the gp to test again and check the low T4 wasn't a one off as there's no thyroid panel

High Folate, Low Normal B12
Regarding folate masking a B12 defciency…my folate was 24 ng/mL and my B12 was 252 pg/mL when I asked to be tested for deficiency in January. I was having neurological symptoms such as anxiety, pulsatile tinnitus, tingling in legs and feet. Other symptoms include digestive issues (I believe I have low

Vitamin recommendations?
Hello all. Just doing some research as alongside an underactive thyroid, my vitamin levels are very low. Does anyone have any tips of particularly good vitamins to take, as I’m sure I will need stronger than a standard multivitamin! Have added my levels for reference. TSH 6.51 (R 0.27-4.2)

Is this hypothyroidism?
Hello, a friend just had some thyroid blood tests back from Blue Horizon and I wanted to check with you if you think they're hypothyroid. I'll ask permission from her to post the results in detail but for now I can give a basic overview. Background info, she's often tired and cold, and has mental health

visual problems since ohs
hi everyone I had ohs on 5 th June to repair my mitral valve. Whilst in hospital, and since I’ve come home I have had “ wavy lines” and “ shooting lights” intermittently in my vision. I have also had a couple of times a sort of weakness in my left arm, that lasted about 5 mins. Last night my vision

Blood test results and feeling "off"
I did my quarterly thyroid test last week, having brought it forward a bit due to feeling "off" - feeling very tired and lethargic, no libido, muscle weakness...this is despite stable thyroid levels that most would say look very good. Also had a lot of back and neck pain, which has been treated by an

Iron Infusion Attempt
This week I saw Dr Robin Fackrell privately at Bath Sulis Hospital to discuss whether an iron infusion would be an appropriate way forward for me and if so how I could progress this. The outcome of the session is that Dr Fackrell will write back to my GP recommending this course of action for my RLS

Advice on latest test results
I have received iron panel results and I am seeking advice on the results. In may I posted full thyroid results most things were greatly improved. However, my ferritin levels remained on the lower end of the range 54ug/l (30-150). ( thyroid panel test have always returned readings between 40-60 ug/l

Does sore throat come with hypothyroidism and Hashi?
Hi All, I've had hypo for over 2 decades and manage it with thyroxine, diet, supplements and lifestyle. Never had any long-term sore throat issues, however it all started this February, when I went through a lot of stress, my thyroid went out of balance and I was struggling with increasing my meds

Iron Blood Test Results
Hi i’m wondering if anyone could advise on my iron blood test. I had a recent thyroid test which showed Ferritin at 69.1 ug/L (range 30-150). This was through Thriva. I have since tested with Medicheck and my ferritin seems to have reduced. Am just wondering if there was a way I could increase ferritin
