Vitamin Supplements for PMR
I have had PMR since February 2023, diagnosed end of April, started on 15mg Pred, increased to 20mg to get fully on top of pain. Now tapering, down to 17.5mg and plan to go to 15mg at the end of July. Then slowly from there. I have been taking Alendronic Acid tablet one weekly since mid May. I am thinking

'Malabsorption' - what do doctors mean exactly?
Hello, When reading about causes of deficiences such as iron, folate, B12 etc. the medical information (from whichever source) lists the causes and malabsorption is always one of them. To me this seems vague compared to the other causes: eg. in the[i] Guidance for Primary Care on the Interpretation

Boron, an interesting article about supplement for T3 increase
Found this article which I found interesting as a possible supplement to assist with T3 may consider after next blood test if no improvement. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4712861/?fbclid=IwAR3dMJ-9rLLZ47g1qBU4LbMViJROk8gIbRNhijGMMW3giwHjVbsY06Huppk

Very low ferritin with top of range haemoglobin can you then safely supplement iron to get ferritin up?
hi last iron haemoglobin was 15.7 top range of 15 and ferritin was 22 (as usual although that’s quite good for me! Range 15- 200(?)). I was beginning to get that rubbish short of breath way I do when ferritin goes very low (been at 3 few years ago). TSH was jumping about a bit and I don’t have other

Weaning off high dose Pramipexole
I have had RLS since the 1970s. Some years ago I had augmentation. At the time I was taking the maximum recommended dose of Pramipexole, .75mg. My neurologist addressed it by a pramipexole vacation and prescribed carbidopa levodopa for 3 months. Seemed odd as it is a dopamine drug but it worked

Thyroid levels advice for friend with newly dx Hashi and P.A please?
Hi, a friend has been supporting me in getting a Pernicious Anaemia diagnosis, as she also has it. She also has a recent Hashimoto's dx (like me, plus I'm hypothyroid too) but I've been trying to help her with it as it's all very new and overwhelming and she's been really ill with P.A for a long time

Test results advice... Impending doom and how to avoid it?! ..
Advice appreciated on where my T3 is at now.. I think half way so it's good?..I actually feel great again now I upped my dose.. I'm prescribed 10 mcg, but am buying 25 mch tablets splitting them into roughly 5 and taking a approx 5 mcg top up in the afternoon. My Gp spent half an hour on the phone

Discrepancy in test results on same dose
I’ve recently had two blood tests - one at the GP surgery, and one at home fingerprick test with Monitor My Health. They’ve come back with quite different results (for FT4, at least) despite being on the same dose, tests done at the same time of day under the same conditions (24 hrs after levo, T3 dose

Conjecture
I use conjecture as part of my creative process. Thing is I do not pretend it is anything but conjecture. Using those who share their experience on this forum it seems to me that of the three forms readily commercially available Methylcobalamin has the most profound effect. As a person who is not

Does iron in hard water interfere with levodopa uptake?
We are told to avoid supplements containing iron when taking levodopa because it interferes with levodopa uptake. We will be vacationing in an area where the tap water has high iron content that affects the taste of the water and stains the sinks. Is this the same form of iron that interferes

New results. GF is helping. Annoyingly.
Hi All, I've had results back and on 125mcg levo and 20mcg T3 (split twice a day) they were: TSH: 0.029 FT4: 18.3 (12 - 22) 63% through range FT3: 5 (3.1 - 6.8) 51% through range I'm feeling pretty good on this dose - physically my fatigue has improved but still isn't great but mentally I'm like

Asking for support following GP 'Results Normal' response

Iron Blood Test Results
Hi i’m wondering if anyone could advise on my iron blood test. I had a recent thyroid test which showed Ferritin at 69.1 ug/L (range 30-150). This was through Thriva. I have since tested with Medicheck and my ferritin seems to have reduced. Am just wondering if there was a way I could increase ferritin

Can you combine levo and NDT?
Hello All, I wonder if any of you are successfully combining levo and NDT together and if you can even do it? I am currently taking levo only, alternating 88-88-75, but my T3 could be a bit higher. It was at 4.1 and I would like to see it around 5. I have a lot of hair loss, some fatigue and also

PERIODIC LIMB MOVEMENT DISORDER
I have not shared for a while. I would like to report that I have been taking the iron supplement every other day with orange juice. Also am taking 300 Gabapentin. I did a sleep study last year and it showed that the PLMD is not disturbing my sleep as it is now at a moderate amount. The sleep study
