Met with neurologist out of Vanderbilt yesterday
Had my 1st visit with Dr out of Vanderbilt, hubby and I really liked him. We talked with him for nearly an hour and he wants to work with my Primary Care physician at home, to co ordinate my treatment. Met with primary care today and she is very willing to work with him. He said my Ferrittin level

Iron/Ferritin
Dear All,I have now had my latest blood tests back and my ferritin levels, with the help of iron tablets, has risen from 45 to 120. However, unlike others in our group, my RLS are still pretty awful. Do I have to be patient and hope the RLS now improve???? Otherwise it will be pretty depressing. Sue

hi all, would love to hear thoughts on iron infusions: side effects, benefits, etc. My doctor has ordered one but I’m just not feeling comfortable about it…

Query low ferritin? Any help with iron results please :-)
Hi all Here again asking probably a similar question to one a few months ago :-) I feel I have some issues with iron. My bloods are in normal limits with very low ferritin reading, but I’m having increasingly significant hair loss, fatigue, shortness of breath (all chest x rays and scans clear),

9 month Besremi update
Hi All, Latest test results showed that I need a phlebotomy: My HCT was 44.5 and though I'm slightly increasing my Besremi dose (now at 160ish), it hasn't kept the HCT under my target of 42. I went ahead and got a phlebotomy this past weekend--the full amount of 500ml. the previous one I had was

Osteoporosis/alendronic acid
I have had a reasonably uneventful PMR journey so far 🤞. Diagnosed April 2020 slow pred reduction from 15mg now reducing 5.5mg/5m. I also take lansoprazole15mg/ vitamin D 800iu as prescribed by my GP since first diagnosis ( she said my diet was high enough in calcium) and following advice on this invaluable

is there a cardiac uniform at all?
I was called Iron Man by my son after I had the ICD fitted. He’s into his Marvel universe but it stuck in my head. Each time I attend a hospital appointment I wear my Iron Man T-shirt. It’s become something of a uniform for me. makes me feel better in places full of ill people.

Thinking out loud
Im now thinking that the severe dry mouth and dehydration could be caused by diabetes . Maybe when I added levothyroxine my body started getting rid of insulin too fast... I've heard hypothyroidism, diabetes and celiac happen together a lot. I only had one test where my glucose was in the pre diabetic

Low MCHC
Hello all. I have a new aspect of my cbc report that has just become Low. It is MCHC. Normal is 31.0 gm/dL to 36.5. I am now 30.7. I would love comments from any others who have had low MCHC. Did you eventually need oxygen. Did they start treatment due to this? How low can it go before you physically

pregabelin side effects
I explained to my dr that sertraline had caused my restless leg to return. Previously it was under control with iron. She put me on a low dose of pregabelin, 25mg to take at night and continue with sertraline in the morning. The first night was ok…ish. I did sleep much better. but the second night

Test results - could someone help please?
Hi! My thyroid is well replaced, but I have been feeling so tired and achy, so I asked my GP to test vitamins. She said all is well. I'm gutted because I feel TERRIBLE. What do you think to these results? Serum Ferritin: 29 (r 20-204) Serum Iron Level: 11.7 (r4.4-27.9) Serum Transferrin: 2.63 (r

CA37/29 Tumor Markers
Hello sister warriors I am feeling in the dumps tonight as I had another monthly CA 27/29 tumor marker test today. The results just came in saying my markers jumped from 167 last month to 176 this month. Last month they had even gone down one point which isn’t much but one point is one point. Of

What has helped me lately
Hi all, It's been a while, but I wanted to come back and share some things that have been helping with my Hashimoto's lately. I last posted five months ago when I was all over the place with my thyroid med dose, feeling like I was taking too much, so I started taking too little, and had trouble increasing
