Low ferritin again
Unsurprisingly my ferritin has fallen back to the very bottom of the range yet again after i ceased iron supplements back in march. Raised a call with the surgery this morning and within 6 minutes of raising the call online it had been closed by the enhanced care practitioner as saying no action required

Iron Deficiency and Iron Deficiency Anemia: Potential Risk Factors in Bone Loss
Members are likely all too familiar with patients being told that they are suffering osteopenia or osteoporosis due to having too much thyroid hormone. And, especially, too much T3. While it is important to realise that there is a case to be made regarding excess thyroid hormone, it is just as important

codeine
I’m just wondering if taking a 60mg dose of codeine each night is addictive? I’m only taking codeine occasionally at other times if I’m in agony with my other health problems. I’ve noticed that it helps my RLS calm immensely when taken with or a low dose of pramiprexole. I also find a hot way bottle

Hello from USA. I was on Ropinpole for years - it stopped working so I stopped taking it. Luckily, I had no withdrawal effect at all. Then i was put on Pramapexole, Gabapentin & Clonzepan ( i also have major insomnia). That was about 3 yrs ago. Unfortunately, the RLS has decided to start up during

Went to the Doctors.
Hi everyone thanks again for all your help and suggestions. I went to the doctors and they agreed it's postural hypotension and it's making my blood pressure go low when I'm standing up they aren't sure what's causing this but think it could be my heart medication and they want to check my iron levels

Further info on blood panel
Hello! I posted a couple of weeks back with some questions about low B12 investigations and was about to have a very full and detailed blood panel. I've got some further info from my blood tests. I don't have a copy yet, they're on the way, so I'll have to be vague about actual numbers for some of them

If I can help one desperate fellow RL sufferer.....
A while back I posted that I was going to stop my withdrawal of Pexola.......a family member who as I do suffered with chronic RL for close to twenty years changed the method of taking her medication and no RL. I decided to follow her method, as I, like so many of us was desperate!! 0.25mg three times

13 month old in movicol. Overwhelmed
It’s the middle of the night and I’m overwhelmed. My breastfed baby at 6 months developed chronic constipation. He had covid, and other colds, was weaning and started on multivitamins with iron. Since then I think we’ve successsfully weaned (still breastfed) and now on multivitamins without iron. He

So, this is crazy!
Had follow up blood tests recently after levothyroxine increase from 25 micrograms to 50 micrograms. Did tests through both the GP and Medichecks (since they had the Thyroid function test on offer a few weeks back). I have a professional blood draw at a local clinic for the Medichecks test, rather than

Anagrelide in UK and in the USA😱
My long suffering wife has been taking Anagrelide and a little hydroxycarbamide for five years now. During these five years she has endured numerous upper GI bleeds, and endoscopies, which have never found the source of the bleeds. More recently, and only since her Anagrelide has been reduced from 21

Copper deficiency anemia
I've had RLS for over 5 decades; cannot sleep without opiod meds, which do work. Have tried megadose of IV iron--no benefit at all. Have been borderline anemia for decades also, despite taking iron supplements much of that time. Recently the anemia got worse, and with the iron connection to RLS, I thought

I saw the nice lady GP today about my recent blood results from 5 Sept 2023: CRP less than 5 mg/l ERS 14 mm/h Rheumatoid factor less than 10 iu/ml Anti-nuclear factor negative (less than 1/100) Iron, B12, folate and Vit D levels OK. T4 and TSH normal Hb a1c 39 mmol/mol - so 9 months pred hasn't

why docs don’t want to prescribe opioids for RLS….😔
With all the recent total panic by docs on not prescribing opioids, I thought I would just attach Andy Berkowski’s excellent piece on why we are often being refused opioids now and almost certainly in the future at least for sometime. You may well have read this article before Kakally Andy Berkowski

Advice on my array of recommended supplements (per endocrinologist”s recommendations)
Hello I have been seeing a private endocrinologist - I have employee health insurance - as I have been experiencing some fluctuations in my T4/3 and TSH over the past 3 years or so. I posted about this in June. I have Hashimotos and my TSH has veered between 0.07 and 16.9 but my T4/3 have generally

Continued success with Vitamin B1
Morning all, I am having some recent success with a Vitamin B1. I have suffered with RLS most of my life although it has been worse over the past 5 years and I was prescribed Ropinerole that worked and then within 10 months did not do as intended and my RLS was worse again. I have been taken Gabapentin

So I had to stop the codeine as awful headaches every time I took it , the last two nights I’ve hardly had any rls, maybe the iron working ?? I checked my diary and it’s the exact same date last month that I had 7 days almost free of it ,then it came back really bad again , it’s got to be hormonal for
